Same as if you don't pay Federal. Tax liens, wage attachments, bank levies, penalties and interest -- the usual assortment of nasty surprises. While prison is unlikely, if you're prosecuted for tax evasion or tax fraud it is an option open to the state.

Eventually they'll garnish your wages or seize assets - and by that time, penalties will have increased what you owe a lot compared to what you would have paid if you had paid them when due.

The state will get very up set.

Then they will collect the taxes---OR
