I cannot give a good reason why, only that they do not respect us, or our laws. While this country allows more immigrants in than any other country in the world. We cannot be everything to everybody. Quotas are in-place for a reason. We need to start enforcing our immigration laws and deporting the people who have entered this country illegally.

Most of them don't expect the same privelages... they come here to work multiple full-time jobs at minimum wage or less, receive no benefits, and put up with stares and anger everyday. Their families are desperate not for a tv or a car, but for food, clothing, and other basic human elements. Desperate times call for desperate measures, so they leave the countries they love to come to a place they have only heard rumors about, risking death at every step along the way. While we may be being too lenient on them, we still need to consider the basic human rights guaranteed to every person, no matter where they are from.

so to answer your question, We do not expect to have the same privliges as citizens, we only expect you to recognize that we WOULDNT be here if it wern't for someone's OPEN INVITATION in the form of LABOR DEMAND, by your American businesses...which are profiting from us.......that said....if the # of visa matched the # laborers truly demanded by american industry --there would be no problem with illegals---
