Well on the one side would be the U.S. All of Western Europe, Austrailia, Phillipines So. Korea, Israel. Other side mostly Eastern Europe and the Middle East. It would be interesting to see who China and India side with. I don't know. I do know those two represent about 60% of the world's population and both are nuclear. You can kiss the world good by if it does ever happen.

This question has already been answered by those who have aligned themselves with the terrorists, those who oppose them, and those who remain passive.

It has become fashionable to naturally assume the worst, such as a potential WWIII, but I highly doubt it is inevitable. Confrontations have been, and will continue to be avoided by countries aligned with those promoting and opposing such wars. There is much more common sense in the world than the media would have you believe. For example, television and print news has been trying to convince me that the a war with Iran is all but guaranteed. This could not be further from the truth. Iran's allies have, and will continue to push for diplomacy, even if Iran does not. The same goes for the allies of the U.S., Britain, and Israel.

Despite one's views on the war in Iraq, it has been a great lesson for the U.S. No future war will involve hundreds of thousands of ground troops rotating in and out of the war zone for years. It will be a massive air campaign, the likes of which have never been seen before. The reason for this is because the American people will not tolerate another drawn out war, yet they will also not tolerate a real threat.

I really don't think it matters. If World War 3 would occur there would be no winners. The war would go nuclear. The are enough nuclear weapons around the globe to kill everything many times over. When the dust settles there will be no one to write the history about the war left on earth.
