How long could an average 25 year old male go without sleep?

Been working overtime lately, so just wanted to know.

after 72 hours your brain starts to break down and you start hallucinating and the likes within 24 hours of that most people would go into a coma (forced sleep) but people who have trained for it may be able to go a week.... that would be pushing the limits and would cause some long term damage I would think though. And I'm talking no sleep.. not even 1 hour here and there (which makes a HUGE difference)

Depends what kind of dope he is on . Ive known people on Ice ( meth ) that have stayed up 9 days. But of course they did hallucinate and got very paranoid after the first 3 nights . its crazy , why would you want to stay up so long . Be carefull you risk health problems doing this

I think the longest time without sleep every recorded was like 11 days or something. By the 4th day the dude was completely and totally insane and ver sick. Your body just needs sleep. Without it, you will have a psychotic break, your immune system will completely shut down and you will get incredibly ill. It's not a good idea.... There's a book out called "Sleep Theives" about sleep disorders, why we sleep, why we dream and what happens when we don't get enough sleep... it's really good, you should read it.
