The question is irrelevant, but it was: Why do Muslims hold Muhammed in such high regard?

I chose a best answer that was not from a muslim. So it would appear that muslims want to erase anything that is contradictory to their religion, right? I can only assume that since it was deleted even after I chose an answer.

So is the only fair thing to do to go and report any and all favorable muslim questions???? Fight fire with fire?

I don't think so, it's generally not my nature. But would like to get your opinion on why this happens.

Bandicoot: I don't know who did it, but by conjecture, I made the connection since I had no other Q's deleted in over 2 months. This is the first Muslim Q I've asked. It's obvious to me at least.

Zalem: The ironic thing is that I was generally interested in why Muhammed is held in such high regard! I did however learn that Muhammed isn't the saint he's made out to be, and that is probably why it got reported - so that negative info doesn't get propagated. The way I see it, history is what it is, accepted it or don't, but you can't change it.

Gamar: I wanted to know why Muhammed is deified because to me, he seems equal to god based on the reaction that the mere mention of his name in the "wrong" context incites. And you don't have to be a certain faith to answer a question. And you plumber analogy doesn't make sense in this context.

Keydoto: regardless of how favorable or unfavorable the answer was, even if it bashed 100%, that is no reason to delete it.

Narrow mindedness is prevalent between Muslims, I'm not saying all but most. It is a Big taboo in their culture to speak about Mohammad in unpleasant ways, you should always praise him. You cannot have any suspicion or argue any of his actions according to Muslims, he's the perfect prophet.

Edit: according to Muslims , he is the last prophet and they make a big issue about it. This is why it is put in high regard, he brought for them the word of God, unchanged immediately from God himself through inspiration/revelation, and then they wrote their Holy book afterwards from the saying of Mo (short for Mohammad) (now see they will take it as a big offense). They are actually captured by the idea of Mo and totally obssessed with him, forgetting even their own God which supposed to be greatest. Do you see lot of them angry about speaking about God, not really. But Mo is a big taboo, he is their own, the one who gave them the light and knowledge.

I guess my answer will be reported ....LOL.

So you asked a question with an implication behind the question - you asked a loaded question.

So let's play the scenario out:
I hear your question aloud:

"Why do Muslims hold Muhammed in such high regard?"
To me that sounds like you're saying that "The prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) doesn't and shouldn't be respected and revered so much. What's up with you people respecting him so much?"

How would you feel if I asked:
"Why do Jews hold Moses in such high regard?" or
"Why do Christians hold Jesus and Paul in such high regard?"

Umm... it isn't a secret that Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) is the major prophet in Islam. Don't you remember all the controversies over the Prophet cartoons?

So basically, you should know why Muslims hold the Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) in high regard. Because he was our last and final Messenger from God, because he spread the Qur'an and the Islamic way of life, because all Muslims are supposed to learn from his way of life, learn from his teachings, and practice Islam like he did. So this is the kind of question, that if you honestly didn't know about Islam, you should ask it like this "I don't know about Islam - can you please tell me why Muslims hold the Prophet Muhammad in such high regard?"

I am not trying to be offensive or confrontational to anyone here, but I do believe that this issue is simple. We should respect other people's beliefs and there are certain questions that are not productive and do not lead to beneficial outcomes, but only provoke anger and or hatred.

What makes you think a Muslim wanted it removed. It could just be that Yahoo Answers has tags for possibly incendiary questions and removes. Or someone that is not a Muslim could be reporting you so you would think that you question was being removed by Muslim. Obviously if Muslims left answers they weren't pissed off by the question otherwise it would have been gone before the answer was chosen. You can't really know why can you.

Why wouldn't Muslims hold their prophet in high regards? And to answer why a Muslim would not have liked you choosing an answer from a non-Muslim ask yourself this first: would you go to a plumber to ask about having your lights fixed? Or vice versa? You go to the relevant person and ask them the relevant question. I would not ask a Muslim, seriously, why Christians think Jesus is the son of God unless I wanted a second opinion on the subject. I would ask a Christian because he or she would be the person to ask because... they are Christians! THEY are the ones who believe Jesus is the son of God, not Muslims. It is common sense and you missed it and perhaps they got annoyed. However, I would not go so far as to report such a thing. If you chose to agree with someone who has no real relevance to your question it is your own business and perhaps ignorance.

Since I didn't see either the original question or answers I can't say for sure. But you didn't show the answer in this question so I must assume the answer YOU chose fit your way of thinking and was in some way derogatory to the Muslim faith. Same on anyone who bashes ANY other faith for their own pleasure and to simply make themselves feel better!

that's just proof of how intolerant they are.
Your question did not violate the yahoo community guidelines at all, so we should actually send a report to yahoo to prevent critical questions on Islam from being deleted, because THAT is against the rules: not allowing freedom of speech.

I had my question deleted too (do muslims breed like rats?) allthough my question is a lot more controversial, I think I should still have the right to pose a question like that.

I bet there have been worser things said here about other sorts of people

A long complaint of "Muslim question removed"

I am hearing this first time at yahoo ,

But on the contrary at least 3 of my "Q or A" were removed Only because they contain reality that "Jews are Racists"

And " Fight fire with fire" NO , we Muslims fight fire with Wisdom ,

How do you know a Muslim reported it? This site seems to have fallen victim to conservative religious fanatics who think that Jesus was all about censorship.

I simply asked why do they want to beat a British teacher so bad and now some are calling for her death. I think it is because since they cannot defend their behavior they would just rather report it and get it removed.
