I took in a sick kitten to the vet from a litter that Erika had had. The vet prescribed Clavamox. It didn't help, he died the next day. Now I have another kitten, David, who is sick. Same exact thing as Joshua. I DON'T want to lose him. I asked the vet if I could just please have the Clavamox as I know it would help him alot. Just heard from them, the answer is no, I have to bring him in. I had given him Clavamox before and it helped him alot. The vet has a huge overhead and prefers people to bring their pets in. My question: Is there anyway I can just the Clavamox so David doesn't die? The pet meds that you can buy online require that they must have an okay from the vet. I tried that once and they declined it. I am so tired of this, just give me the **** Clavamox. Out of this litter Erika had of 7, I have buried five of them. Only 2 left. Thanks. Be kind guys.

I hord antibotics for cats and dogs. You said you already got a prescription for clavamox and the kitten died the next day so where did all the clavamox go? Did he die cause you gave him 20 pills in one day? If you have it, give it, if not, go to the vet and get it.

Clavamox has a weight limit for the doseage for a cat, your 'kitten' may be too small for a full dose. There could also be other circumstances--the vet would know from an exam. If you feel he's overcharging, then switch vets to a different one.

Oh dear, that's rough.

Unfortunately, your vet has a good reason for requiring that you bring the kitten in. The medicine that works for one critter might not for another, and there are a number of conditions that mimic each other- but require different treatments.

Why don't you ask the vet what your kitten has and see if you can't work out a treatment plan that will be more likely to work?

Good luck!

Sorry, but no. I wish there was a way. Do you have any clavamox left over from the other cat?

I would go ahead and take him in. The longer he is sick, the more likely you will lose him.

Unfortunately no, even the shelter I work with can only get it through a vet.. You may want to shop around for a different vet..
