I asked Carnival, and they no longer offer a roommate matching service. Some of us singles would want the convenience of not paying double the price for the room and meeting someone as a roomate into the bargain. Any ideas?

Holland America cruise line has a cruise mate matching service that will match you with a person of the same sex. They call it their 'SINGLE PARTNERS PROGRAM". Read about it here:
