I've Gotta concur with Tip,
It was the staunchly Protestant William III of Orange, who also said,
"There lives not a people more hardy, neither is there any will endure the miseries of war ... so naturally, and with such facility and courage that they do."

I agree with the two posters above, but remember the times in which those words were spoken, have a very remote connection to the world of today.
