That depends on what definition of Christian that you are using. There are some people that claim that you have to follow a specific religion or group of religions. There are also certain people who claim that you have to believe exactly the same way that they do in order for you to be considered Christian. However if you just go by the definition of a person who, professes belief in Jesus as Christ or following the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus, then there is no difference. What are the differences between Latter-day Saints and other Christian sects? That varies on the church you are talking about. Some of the common differences are; we believe that, due to various forms of opposition the original church that Christ set up during his ministry fell into apostasy. We also believe that we have we have a living prophet, a man like Moses or any of the other biblical prophets, today. We believe that God is as active in our lives today as he was in biblical times. We do believe the Bible to be the word of God, as far as it is translated correctly, we also have other books of scripture that have come from God as a testament of God's continuing effort to help us return to him some day. When we refer to the Bible, we refer to the same stories that you know from the Bible. The "extra" scripture that we have is contained in three separate books, the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ, The Pearl of Great Price, and the Doctrine and Covenants. These along with the Bible constitute the standard works of the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints. We believe that God will give us more scripture.

What do I believe about Christ?
The blessings that I receive from Christ are the only reason that I can face the world each day. He is the source of my every joy and happiness. It is only through his grace that I am able to do anything. When I think about all that Christ has done for me I find it hard to describe the joy and gratitude that I feel. With that joy in my heart, I gain an overwhelming desire to serve my Savior. I know that, when I obey His commandments, He has and will continue to bless me beyond all comprehension. Those blessings that I am given will help me to draw closer to Him, and by following His example I can gain more faith and trust in Him and then if I rely on his grace and keep my faith strong I will be able to return to live with him some day.
While we may have a different understanding of Christ we all believe in Christ and from my perspective it is god that we are trying to follow and it is God that we should turn to when we want to know how to better follow him.

Mormon is a subset of Christian.

Christians = Mormons, Protestants, Catholics, Baptists, etc. They're all christians.

All of them have their own interpretations.

The biggest differences between Mormons and the others are:
1. Mormons believe that there was an apostasy after the apostles all died. Therefore a restoration of Christ's church was necessary.
2. This occurred when Joseph Smith was called by Jesus Christ personally to be a prophet just like prophets of old.
3. He was let to and given the ability to translate an ancient book of scripture called "The Book of Mormon" that also testifies of Jesus Christ.
4. They believe that God has a prophet on the earth today.

There are other minor differences, however, those are the big ones.

If being Christian is defined as believing in and seeking to follow Jesus Christ and his teachings then Mormons are indisputably Christians.

They believe the Bible to be the word of God, but believe that God did not speak only to the Jews. They believe that God also called prophets in the Americas and those prophets recorded his words as well, hence The Book of Mormon.

The Book of Mormon is a compliment to The Bible. It doesn't detract from it.

I would say that the biggest difference between Mormons and other Christians is that others believe that God spoke only to the Jews (and possible early Christians) and that the heavens are now closed and God no longer speaks to Man. Mormons believe that God had other prophets besides the Jews and they also believe in continued revelation.

Mormons don't know about the rapture, or about the sinner's prayer, or creation science, or that satan was a Cherub and wanted to be like God ezekiel 28:12-19, or understand the trinity, or that we are God's temple now, or the invisible armor of the Lord Ephecians 6, thats why they wear their own under roo's, they won't wear crosses. They have two levels of theology, one for the temple goers and one for the non-temple goers.

We are not completely difference from mainstream Christians. Just different. Basically the only major difference is that we don't believe in the Trinity. They say we are not Christian because of that, but a Christian is someone who follows the teachings of Christ, and we do that.

We believe the Bible to be the word of God, as far as it is translated correctly. We also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, and goes hand in had with the Bible. There are no contradictory statements of the Bible in the Book of Mormon.

We read and believe the KJV. We are a biblical church. We also have the Book of Mormon. The rest of the differences are just opinion.

We do believe Jesus is the son of God.

''The Doctrine and Covenants'' and "The Pearl of Great Price" are used to correct the "Book of Mormon" used by the LDS. The "Book of Mormon" had so many errors it had to be edited, not reprinted, but revised at least 7 times. After all the revisions there were still errors in it so "The Pearl of Great Price" was written and revised many times. Also "The Doctrine and Covenants" was written to make some changes in what had already been printed. Also, they "claim" to believe in the King James Version of the Bible, but they do not think God, the creator of everything, is able to keep His word pure so He had to have them come along and make changes to what He had given through Jesus many years before.

As for me, all I, as a Christian, need is a simple Bible, any real version will do to show me the whole council of God for me today.

i know they have two different book of belief, but what makes the books different and what things do they disagree on?
Their books were written by Joseph Smith and the Bible was written by inspired men of God.

do they both belive jesus was the son of god? They do not believe Jesus was equal with God but believe they can become little gods and rein with God.

do they both believe in the same stories from bibilical times?
They believe very few biblical stories from the times of the Bible.

what makes them completly different religions or belifes?
#1, they do not believe God is capable of taking care of His word, the Bible, even after He created the world/sea/sky. This would be too difficult for such an idiot of a God (they think).

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormonism) is a beautiful Christian religion. You should be extremely careful when trying to learn about Mormons from others. There are many who hate the Mormons and spread lies, distortions, and conspiracy theories about them. Others think they understand Mormon doctrine because of "what they've heard," but are actually misinformed.

Because Mormons are Christian, we believe in most of the things that Christians believe, including:

1) Christ is divine and salvation comes only through Him.
2) The Bible is the word of God.
3) Men ought to love one another.

Mormons are a unique branch of Christianity, however. We are neither Catholic nor Protestant, so naturally we have some different beliefs. Most of the differences are minor. One significant difference has to do with the authority to act in God's name. Mormons believe that soon after the death of Christ and His apostles, the early Christian Church was greatly influenced by Greek and Roman philosophies and political pressures. Despite the efforts of many good men and women, the true Church of Christ was eventually lost because of these outside pressures and internal, man-made changes. Mormons believe that God reestablished the original Church of Christ in 1820 through a man named Joseph Smith.

Hope this helps! Mormon Christianity has changed my life by helping me better follow Jesus Christ.

LDS have what is known as "The Book of Mormons" that they use in conjunction with "The Holy Bible". This book was generated by Joseph Smith, an alleged prophet and teacher of the LDS. In light of the fact that "The Holy Bible" tells us we are not to add to or delete from The Word, I'd say the LDS is a false religion that is leading millions astray. However, it is also written that God's angel will come and call His people out of the false church, so if there are any true Children of God within the LDS church, He will redeem them.

A Christian is a true follower of Christ. There are "Sunday" Christians that are not true Christians...true Christianity is an every day, every hour, every minute committment to the relationship God granted us to have with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. And He manisfests Himself through the Holy Spirit which dwells within us.
