No.

Evil is not the OPPOSITE of goodness, but the ABSENSE of goodness.

By way of example, darkness is not the opposite of light, but rather the absense of light. You can remove all the light from an area, but once all the light is removed, you can not add more "darkness" to the area. We SAY that a room is getting darker, but that is really just a comparative statement. Actually, the room is becoming less bright.

Likewise, cold is not the opposite of heat, but it's absense. You can remove all the heat from an object, bringing it to absolute zero, but once you've done that, you can not add any more "coldness" to it. Again, when we say that something is getting colder, what we really mean is that it is losing heat.

In the same way, evil is the absense of good, and when we say that something is more evil, what we really mean is that it has less "good" in it. When we pull away from God, we become less "good", and in a comparitive sense, we are becoming more "evil", but once you have completely removed yourself from God and there is no "goodness" left, you can not become more "evil". Hell is the total absense of God (and all that is good), and satan is the epitome of evil because he has totally rejected God after having seen His infinite goodness in heaven itself.

Good and evil have to do with morality. Life is a struggle and it is meant to be this way. Under the duress of struggle and hardship, the most in human potential can be had. Life is work, we earn our character, and our spiritual strength. It is to everyone's advantage, to become competent at being good for themselves and others. Evil will come back at you eventually. Our main goal in life, should be to work hard at being moral, and in contributing positively into creating a better world for oneself and others. God will treat anyone well, who is a factor for better morality and positive change in this world. Good represents competence in the area of being moral, and requires moral work and training. Evil results from not having been trained morally.

Evil exists because God is just and we all have free will...God has to know that you choose him over his adversary...Truly with your whole heart...we are governed by our choices and the person place or thing that we freely choose to love the most is where our heart truly lyes..For me thats jesus christ..Yes evil exists but for everything under the sun there is a counterfeit so choose the real thing which is christ because he invented it all and then gave you the freedom to choose which one you want to believe...Which is the truest reflection for god into the heart of mankind

sturdy/evil is a human thought-framework, the comparable as the different pair of opposites like gentle/darkish, count/area, sound/silence etc, yet some careful examination of course properly-knownshows that none of those extreme opposites actually exists in a state of finished, organic perfection. each thing interior the actual international is in basic terms extra suitable/worse--no longer sturdy/evil--and those are in lots of circumstances in basic terms concerns of non-public flavor. To be who we are as people, we ought to have the flexibility to be certain the products in our international as issues we want/issues we don't need. sturdy/evil is only the oversimplification of that needed ability to tell apart one ingredient from yet another. i admire domestic dogs and surprisingly sunsets even although I write like i could be an evil genius.

Evil is the consequent of a lack of good. A good analogy is a wound. A wound does not exist, it is literally where flech is missing. But the wound has consequences, just as evil does.

Goodness exists so that we can better appreciate the comforts of evil.

Hail Satan. Amen.

If bad things never happened to us, how would we appreciate the good? Evil exists because man was disobedient which led to The Fall from Grace.

No. Evil means "that which is contrary to my values."

Evil doesn't exist "for" anything, it's just the fact that sometimes certain situations or events are such that you would prefer them to be different.

"Good," of course, just means "that which is in accord with my values."

I thought evil is the absence of good, the same way a tooth cavity is the absence of calcium, not a thing in itself.
