Wicca is a nature-based religion which recognizes deity, the Sabbats, and doing no harm. There is nothing "wrong" or "evil" with that. I don't see how people can call it evil. It is a beautiful religious Path. I am a non-Wiccan Witch, but I do thoroughly understand and respect Wiccan tenets.
The people who believe that Wicca is wrong or evil have usually been deliberately misinformed by fundies. Some people think it's bad because they are basing everything on the Bible, which strictly forbids Witchcraft in several passages. They believe that if it's not in complete agreement with the Bible, then it must be of the "devil." Some people are so close-minded that they just incorrectly assume that this is true. It's like they don't want to look at the world around them to see what else is out there. If they would open their eyes and their minds I think they would be pleasantly surprised, don't you?

As an empiricist, I am not likely to believe in the things wiccans believe. I want to see for myself. Through the methods of shamanism, I can. But I see some common points between the fruits of our paths. They both tend to hold respect for wildlife. Shamanism isn't really opposed to any religion unless one's direct personal experience contradicts tradition or doctrine about something. But this is true shaman-to-shaman as well!
There are many paths. If you love the path of wicca, and respect me for my path, then I have no problem at all.

It is about nature and spirituality as a personal experience.
Like PaganPoe, I was a part of it for a number of years before my path took me off on a different but similar route.
Anyone who thinks personal connections with spirituality are "evil" is someone looking to control/manipulate others.

It's a nature-based, cruelty free kind of practice and works well for the people who truly practice it with altruism and wisdom. Of course there always be a few people who call themselves "Wiccan" who are a few Runes short of an Aett... but only individuals can do non-virtuous deeds... Wicca doesn't teach them to do so.

I think it can be a beautiful and fulfilling religion that offers a powerful connection to the Gods, but that it is certainly not for everyone.
I also believe that Wicca is not "whatever you want it to be". One has to fulfill certain requirements in order to be a Wiccan (following the Rede, honoring Deity in male/female polarity, celebrating or at least recognizing the sabbats, etc).

You may have better luck if you don't state which opinions are right and which are wrong. Why will anyone bother answering when you make it clear you're not interested in many of the answers?

I think it's basically bs. I believe the chanting, spells, etc. is just a tool to focus thought which is actually utilizing the Law of Attraction, not magic.
