Volkswagen has a reverse flow cooling system. So the thermostat housing is connected to the lower radiator hose below the water pump.

go to autozone they will print one out for you.

oh ya, if it's a 1.8T its under the intake manifold, you have to remove the altenator, belt and the throttle body to get to it. its a lot of work suggest you have another person with you to help out

beg your local dealer to print one for you. i work for a ford/Chrysler dealer, if somebody asks me , most of the time i will. it all depends on the person asking. if their rude and want to complain, forget it. if their cool, I'll hook 'em up.

go to http://www.autozone.com once there click on do it yourself. You will be asked to set up a profile for your vehicle. Once you do that you can get anything there is about maintenance for your vehicle.
