Of course they do. Some just enough to pay their bills and others that do it professional and make 6 figures.

With a lot of Business to Consumer projects, we are also seeing an increase number of calls from offshore call centers that work for even less.

Telemarketing is like any other form of marketing, from magazine ads to billboards, it is alway intrusive and when done correctly, it works...for any business, big or small, from the local florist shop to the international corporation.

As for driving you crazy, I would like to offer you a little advice from someone that does telemarketing professionally.

Don't hang up on them. Stop them, ask them from what call center they are calling from, where they are located and a contact number, then asked to be removed from all there calling list at that call center, within 30 days.

Another option is to contact the business they were calling on behalf of and tell them directly to remove your name from any direct marketing list they manage.

I know, sounds like a hassle, but eventually it will show results.

Final thought. What most people don't realize...when you hang up on telemarketers, they simply disposition your call back into the list and call you again tomorrow

Hope this helps
John

I have friends who work at two different telemarketing agencies and the companies have different policies for how they earn their wages....one of them just needs to make a quota for how many calls total, another has to actually sell a certain number of products. They're both paid an hourly wage if they make their quotas (or miss it by a small amount) and then they get commission for everything over quota

Trust me. It works.

I did it for one day and then quit. Out of all the calls I made, my success rate was about 2%. Get a roomfull of people making calls 24/7 and pay them commission only and you can make a nice profit.

I can't imagine they do. I know no one who speaks to them.
