Yesterday I was walking with my friend outside college and then it was the "dont walk " sign. SO the cars are all passing and this guy well 2 actrually stick there heads out the window of the car and start cursing me and yelling at me because i am muslim and wear the hijab!!!
Whats up with these ppl why do they teat us like that????

i know what you mean...
not too long ago i was driving to work and i stopped at a stop sign and the car that stopped next to me had 3 boys in it. They opened ther window all gave me the finger and started cussing at me. At first I was confused and was wondering if I accidentally cut them off or something...then it hit me. I wear hijab.

Ok dont be mad at me but i suggest since u dont have any "requirements" in america like saudi and stuff, u shouldnt wear hijab or wadever its called.
I might sound insane but well this is america and u can practice ur religion wadsover and dress conservatively but if u behave like the rest of the ppl,nobody would say anything and wont even know that u are muslim.
I aint saying u shouldnt be proud of it if ppl ask just tell em that u are one.

A lot of it is because of the American 'War on Terrorism' which is mainly targeted at extremist muslim groups. As some people who are not from the muslim religion or background do not have much knowledge of the religion, they may think that all muslims are anti-American, as obviously they are not. Of course, many people are just downright racist and idiots.

I can believe that things like that happen in the United States beacuse the stigma that a lot of Americans have toward individuals from your country. While I am not condoning it you have to understand where people are coming from. It is the wrong way of standing up for your country.

Well that's too bad. I have nothing against muslims in general, I hate all religions with equal contempt. I don't know if you're in the U.S. or U.K. but you said college and not university so I'll guess the U.S. This is a country full of uneducated and self righteous rednecks and you're wearing the clothing of the enemy so you're going to draw flak. If you don't want them to fire shots at you don't wear a bullseye.

Hunny, some mean, stuck-up people are raciest, they dont like other people form ther countries, and they dont respect your culture, they are just being amachures and you should be pretty used to that. But all I can say is you to be proud of what nationality you sre and dont care what others think/say about you.
