I just finished reading the first 8 books of Jan Karon's Mitford series. She calls them "Gentle Fiction", although most call them Christian Fiction. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for some good clean reading. The main character is an Episcapalian Priest. Not a lot of mystery to it - especially if you read mystery books frequently, but there's nothing about his "Episcapalianism" that offends. I think in the eight books I noticed less than 1/2 a dozen cuss words. If it were a movie I think it would be pushing it to go from a G to a PG rating.
As for non-fiction I usually stick with a church published magazine, and the scriptures. Although I am going to start a book of talks and other true stories with a Christmas theme soon.

The Last three Religious books I read are>
1. Old Path White Clouds (Buddhist scriptures translated by Thich Nhat Hanh, a Vietnamese Buddhist Monk)
2. Contemplative Prayer by Thomas Merton
3. Musings on Human Metamorphoses by Timothy Leary
I doubt anyone but me would find all three of these books interesting and of value, but they are for me. Thich Nhat Hanh's writing cuts to the center of Buddhist spirituality in a way that's very understandable for someone like me, who's not a Buddhist. Thomas Merton understands the true spirituality that has been held by all of the Saints of the Catholic Church, but is sadly lacking in most churches I go to today. Leary had some ingenious and unique ideas on what a sacrament is, and what may lead us to the future. (Not dissimilar to Fr. Teilhard de Chardin's Omega Point Theory)

I just reread Opening to Channel by Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer and The Deeper Wound by Deepak Chopra. I'm in healing mode right now, and both books help facilitate the process. When it comes to religious or spiritual works, I read what I am guided to read in that moment. It's wonderful how it's always what I need....

I don't recognize any of yours but will check them out online.{edit: your book looks interesting-I read all they have here: http://books.google.com/books?id=1wH1P61xjRwC&dq=%22final+harvest%22&printsec=frontcover&source=web&ots=AZyzsTi-oV&sig=HJEDP1b-iP135dpHsDdvYdm7rFY#PPA13,M1 } When I wanted to improve meditation skills many years ago, I read Chopra, Weil and many others I can't recall right now. Most were excellent and inspiring, but that was it, no real change in daily spiritual life. Then, I chanced upon a Spiritual Psychiatrist! (oxymoron for sure) I joined his group and watched his manual grow and develop from some affirmations and quotes to meditate on - to a full-fledged book.
I am referring to 7-8 years. Finally, I could understand a plan and see actual spiritual growth in my life. It wasn't just telling me to do it (meditate) and the benefits someday, I told me a detailed program with immediate and continued results. I know different writers reach different people, but this book has held my attention at least weekly, (usually daily, but some lapses). I keep finding new gems to ponder.
This book and its author have kept me in relative spiritual peace with a path to growth for a lifetime. I read many other spiritual books, but rarely do read them again. I whole-heartedly recommend it to any true spiritual Seeker: 'HEALING POWER Ten Steps to Pain Management and Spiritual Evolution' by Phillip Shapiro, M.D.
