.....happenings AND never have changed that application of that date to the amazing prophecy of Christ at Matthew 24 :3-12,14 for over 100 years, :

***The New York World of August 30, 1914, explains: “The terrific war outbreak in Europe has fulfilled an extraordinary prophecy. For a quarter of a century past, through preachers and through press, the ‘International Bible Students’ [Jehovah’s Witnesses] . . . have been proclaiming to the world that the Day of Wrath prophesied in the Bible would dawn in 1914. ‘Look out for 1914!’ has been the cry of the . . . evangelists.”29

--AND IN OUR TIME IS STILL considered UNIQUE:

“In 1914 the world lost a coherence which it has not managed to recapture since. . . . This has been a time of extraordinary disorder and violence, both across national frontiers and within them.”—The Economist, London, August 4, 1979.

***SO BACK TO MY QUESTION (did I not ask a question with even 2 question marks ??--MY MY, why are our super christians avoiding a simple WHY)--why was it that NOBODY except JWS warned the world about 1914 & THE FULFILLMENT OF this serious conclusion:

“Ever since 1914, everybody conscious of trends in the world has been deeply troubled by what has seemed like a fated and predetermined march toward ever greater disaster. Many serious people have come to feel that nothing can be done to avert the plunge towards ruin. They see the human race, like the hero of a Greek tragedy, driven on by angry gods and no longer the master of fate.”—Bertrand Russell, The New York Times Magazine, September 27, 1953!!

I totally agree with Vot Anar, who makes a very great statement!

This is for anyone who is willing to read and listen. If you read the articles below you will know why the beginning of the last days started in 1914.

Reasoning from the Scriptures book
Dates page 95-96

Why do Jehovah's Witnesses say that God's Kingdom was established in 1914?

Two lines of evidence point to that year: (1) Bible chronology and (2) the events since 1914 in fulfillment of prophecy.

Read Daniel 4;1-17. Verses 20-37 show that this prophecy had a fulfillment upon Nebuchadnezzar. But it also has a larger fulfillment. How do we know that? Verses 3 and 17 show that the dream that God gave to King Nebuchadnezzer deals with the Kingdom of God and God's promise to give it "to the one whom he wants to...even the lowliest one of mankind." The entire Bible shows that Jehovah's purpose is for his own son, Jesus Christ, to rule as His representative over mankind. (Ps. 2:1-8; Dan. 7:13, 14; 1 Cor. 15:23-25; Rev. 11:15; 12:10) The Bible's description of jesus shows that he was indeed "the lowliest one of mankind." (Phil. 2:7, 8; Matt. 11:28-30) The prohetic dream, then, points to the time when Jehovah would give rulership over mankind to his own Son.

What was to happen in the meantime? Rulership over mankind, as represented by the tree and its rootstock, would have "the heart of a beast." (Dan. 4:16) The history of mankind would be dominated by governments that displaye the characteristics of wild beast. In modern times, the bear is commonly used to represent Russia; the eagle, the United States; the lion , Britain; the dragon, China. The Bible also uses wild beasts as symbols of world governments and of the entire global system of human rulership under the influence of Satan. (Dan. 7:2-8, 17, 23; 8:20-22; Rev. 13:1, 2) As Jesus showed in his prophecy pointing to the conclusion of the system of things, Jerusalem would be "trampled on by the nations, until the appointed times of the nations" were fulfilled. (Luke 21:24) "Jerusalem" represented the Kingdom of God because its kings were said to sit on "the throne of the kingship of Jehovah." (1 Cor. 28:4, 5; matt. 5:34, 35) So, the Gentile governments, represented by wild beasts would 'trample' on the right of God's Kingdom to direct human affairs and would themselves hold sway under Satan's control.----compare Luke 4:5, 6.

For how long would such governments be premitted to exercise this control before Jehovah gave the Kingdom to Jesus Christ? Daniel 4:16 says"seven times" ("Seven years," At and Mo, also JB footnote on verse 13). The Bible shows that calculating prophetic time, a day is counte as a year. (Ezek. 4:6; Num. 14:34) How many "days," then, are involved? Revelation 11:2, 3 clearly states that 42 months (3 1/2 years) in that prophecy are counted as 1,260 days. Seven years would be twice that, or 2,520 days. Applying the "day for a year" rule would result in 2,520 years.

When did the counting of the "seven times" begine? After Zedekiah, the last king in the typical Kingdom of God, was removed from the throne in Jerusalem by the Babylonians. (Exek. 21:25-27) Finally, by early october of 607 B.C.E. the last estiage of Jewish sovereignty was gone. By that time the Jewish governor, Gedaliah, who had been left in charge by the Babylonians, had been assassinated, and the remaining Jews had fled to Egypt. (Jer. Chapters 40-43) Reliable Bible chronology indicates that this took place 70 years before 537 B.C.E., the year in which the Jews returned from captivity; that is, it took place by early October of 607 B.C.E. (Jer. 29:10; Dan. 9:2.)

How, then, is the time calculated down to 1914? Counting 2,520 years from early October of 607 B.C.E. brings us to early October of 1914 C.E., as shown on the chart.

Calculating the "Seven times"

"Seven time" = 7 times 360= 2,520 years

Early October, 607 B.C.E. to December 31, 607 B.C.E. = 1/4 yr

Jan. 1, 606 B.C.E. to Dec. 31, 1 B.C.E. = 606 yrs

Jan. 1, 1 C.E., to Dec. 31, 1913 =1,913 yrs

Jan. 1, 1914, to early October, 1914 = 3/4 yrs

So the total is 2,520 yrs

we were the only ones to warn people because we were the only ones who took it seriously. it was prophesied in the bible that 1914 was a time of dramatic events. not directly but certainly through the signs portrayed throughout the bible. careful examination of the WHOLE bible was needed in order to get to the time of 1914, but with Jehovahs help it was accomplished and the part that those witnesses had to play was that of warning those who were humble enough and alert enough to react.

Theres a lot of errors in your post, because you misquoted a lot of stuff.

Here something you didn't quote about 1925.

The chief thing to be restored is the human race to life: and the Scriptures definitely fix the fact that there will be a resurrection of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and other faithful ones of old, and that these ones will have the first favour."

The only thing this is stating here is that there will be a resurrection of the people of old. Around this time, the Watch Tower Society use to believe all people goto Heaven, but they soon came to find out that there will be a resurrection.

On the same article in 1925, it states this.

"We INVITE the reader, therefore, TO EXAMINE EACH POINT CAREFULLY as here made, compare the argument with the Scriptures cited, and view the same in the light of present day events... Every man should be persuaded in his own mind and no man should permit himself to be deterred from examining a question based upon the Bible because a clergyman or any one else makes the unsupported assertion that it is dangerous or unworthy to consider"

1975 never marked the date of Armageddon. What opposers take out of context is the use of the 6000 years of existence quotes, which did not make the date.

1975 quotes from the same article...

It does not necessarily mean that 1975 marks the end of the first 6,000 years of Jehovah’s seventh creative "day." Why not? Because after his creation Adam lived some time during the "sixth day," which unknown amount of time would need to be subtracted from Adam’s 930 years, to determine when the sixth seven-thousand-year period or "day" ended, and how long Adam lived into the "seventh day." And yet the end of that sixth creative "day" could end within the same Gregorian calendar year of Adam’s creation.

35 One thing is absolutely certain, Bible chronology reinforced with fulfilled Bible prophecy shows that six thousand years of man’s existence will soon be up, yes, within this generation! (Matt. 24:34) This is, therefore, no time to be indifferent and complacent. This is not the time to be toying with the words of Jesus that "concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father." (Matt. 24:36) To the contrary, it is a time when one should be keenly aware that the end of this system of things is rapidly coming to its violent end. Make no mistake, it is sufficient that the Father himself knows both the "day and hour"!

What did they make clear?

Does this mean that the year 1975 will bring the battle of Armageddon? No one can say with certainty what any particular year will bring. Jesus said: "Concerning that day or the hour nobody knows." (Mark 13:32) Sufficient is it for God’s servants to know for a certainty that, for this system under Satan, time is running out rapidly. How foolish a person would be not to be awake and alert to the limited time remaining, to the earthshaking events soon to take place, and to the need to work out one’s salvation!

What about the year 1975? What is it going to mean, dear friends?’ asked Brother Franz. ‘Does it mean that Armageddon is going to be finished, with Satan bound, by 1975? It could! It could! All things are possible with God. Does it mean that Babylon the Great is going to go down by 1975? It could. Does it mean that the attack of Gog of Magog is going to be made on Jehovah’s witnesses to wipe them out, then Gog himself will be put out of action? It could. But we are not saying. All things are possible with God. But we are not saying. And don’t any of you be specific in saying anything that is going to happen between now and 1975. But the big point of it all is this, dear friends: Time is short. Time is running out, no question about that.

Because they felt according to tabulation along with the most important prophecy of Christ that dealt with the sign of his special "presence" ("parousia") in the established Kingdom & authority of Christ!
(Revelation 12:10) . . .Now have come to pass the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ. . ."

This is a short summary of the tabulation of the 7 times of Daniel 4 along with Revelation 12 especially come to bear:
*** pe chap. 16 p. 140 God’s Government Begins Its Rule ***

[In 607 B.C.E. God’s kingdom of Judah fell.
In 1914 C.E. Jesus Christ began to rule as king of God’s heavenly government
607 B.C.E.—1914 C.E.
October, 607 B.C.E.—October, 1 B.C.E. = 606 years
October, 1 B.C.E.—October, 1914 C.E. = 1,914 years
SEVEN GENTILE TIMES = 2,520 YEARS

This indeed was the special "short period of time"(Rev. 12:12);"last days"(2 Tim 3:1-5);"time of the end" (Dan. 12:1-3) that Jehovah would give Satan before he had Christ bring on Armageddon!

This article on Christ's (as Michael)invisible presence after he fought Satan as in Revelation 12:7-9 could bring clarity to the question:

Would you believe a Jehovah's Witness was just here? Min.s ago.
They are not the only ones making the claim. I have even see claims right here at Yahoo Answers to 'contact ________ and this person knows when it will happen'. But Jesus even said that he did not even know when it will happen, Only God knows.
But we all should be prepared. It will come one day. Are we all ready?

That's a fine eurocentric point of view you've got there. I wish I could go back and ask the contemporary inhabitants of Brazil or Iran if they even noticed the first world war.

That's also a good amount of spin you've got there. I'm not sure anyone would consider WWI to be larger than WWII, and there aren't many historians I know of who make a break in the timeline of the history of the whole world in 1914. I mean, obviously the franco-prussian war of 1870 set the stage for WWI, which then set the stage for WWII. Then of course, did some other war set the stage for 1870? So why not display 1870 as the turning point for world history? The JW can't accept that possibility, because they NEED 1914 to be the significant year. That requires spin, and lots of it.

Let's face it: NONE of the religious prophecies (generality is needed because the JWs are only one small subsect of Christianity, after all, and Christianity is just another religion) have ever been very specific, and very few prophecies even fall in the same ballpark as a real, historical event.

Here's my religious prophecy, and you can quote me!

"In the year of our lord 2014, there will be the gnashing of teeth, and the lamentations of the damned will be heard by the ears of all men, for the sword of the great and mighty will fall at that time." Sound good to you? I promise that in 2015 I will be able to conclusively show that my prophecy has come true.

People call your question a rant if you provide too much indisputable info and they do not have the answers.

None of the rest were looking at Scripture, they were into worldly things, trying to gain approval from the political powers and helping in pepping up their flock to go and kill their "brothers" on the other side.

That's why when Jesus' presence began, they did not notice.

Jesus' second coming is yet to come. The Watchtower organization had to say that He already came because they had so many false prophecies and they did this to recover.

Your organization is leading you to the eternal separation form God. Hell is a real place.
