why did jesus have to be put on a cross to die.
why could he not have just taken some poisen or found some other less dramatic way to go?

why did he need to be accused of being a criminal to be put to death by the romans. most martyrs just kill themselves, or go into a deadly situation to die.

Opposition to earthly authority. Suicide is an act of pure self, execution by the state for being politically dangerous is not. These days, with much of Christianity working hand-in-glove with governments, the element of rebellion against earthly authority is severely downplayed.

First, the NT story is fictional and so is Jesus. He never lived and never therefore, walked on this earth. It is a made up story by the Romans to placate the Jews and to try to stop them fighting the Romans. The Romans thought that if they could have the Jews believe their phony story about a new god or his son, then they would accept the story and stop fighting and obey the Romans. Therefore, Jesus did not die because he never lived and this is the biggest and worst lie ever placed into the public. Look at what that BS has done the world over. The Romans aristocrats and royal made the religion - Catholicism - and that is why the Vatican is so damn wealthy today.

Someone else asked a question about how much of a sacrifice was it for Jesus to die when he was going to be resurrected. Well your question ties in with that, Dying for our sins was necessary because that's the way God designed it. The shedding of blood is necessary for the forgiveness of sins. However the dying part wasn't the hard part for Jesus it was the way he died. He was humiliated, tortured and mocked by the people he loved that's what proved his love for us not just dying. If all he did was drink some poison and died, then came back to life how would that show real love.

The story of Jesus dieing on the cross comes from the astrology of the sun and the constellations. When the sun(Jesus) gets to its lowest point during the winter solstace it is in the vincinity of the Crux constellation also known as the Cross. the sun stays at this low point for 3 days. On the 25th of december the sun starts to rise in the sky again. This is where the story of the death and resurection of jesus comes from. The resurection is celebrated during the spring equinox when the sun is at its highest point and the days start to get longer.

Christ was fulfilling prophecy.

I first realized how awesome God is when I connected Matthew 27:46 to Psalms 22 -

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Matthew 27:46

Psalms 22, which was written about a thousand years before the fact, starts out like the above verse. 22 goes on to describe the Crucifiction in detail, even the Romans casting lots for Christ's garments.

So, instead of having a weak moment, as some have suggested, Jesus was actually teaching right from the cross. He was pointing to Psalms 22, saying that prophecy's been fulfilled.

How awesome is that?

Psalm 22:16
Dogs have surrounded me; a band of evil men has encircled me, they have pierced my hands and my feet.
( A type of execution that was not from the Judaic custom )

It was to fulfill prophecy that would be astronomically impossible to to fake. The control over the area was not even a though in the minds of those living in David's time, yet, there were the Romans, with a type of execution that was foreign to the Hebrews.

Psalm 22

6 Dogs have surrounded me;
a band of evil men has encircled me,
they have pierced my hands and my feet.
( 'Dogs' were a reference to the Gentiles. He would be placed in a state of execution by them, under their methods, notice the pierced hands and feet)

17 I can count all my bones;
people stare and gloat over me.
( His bones were not broken )

18 They divide my garments among them
and cast lots for my clothing.
( compare to John 19:23 - 24 )

There is more that I could go into concerning the shedding of blood. The temple of the Jewish Law was ordered in the Old Testament, not to illustrate it as the manifestation of the Law, but to describe the necessity for the blood to be spilled to make a propitiation for sins.

Jesus was that propitiation. He was the finality; the reality of the sacrifices that the Hebrews made. It was not the blood of animals that saved, but the faith in God through the final sacrifice provided by God through Jesus Christ.

He was obeying the will of His Father in heaven. It was God's will that Christ die on the cross. If Christ had taken it upon Himself to die the way He wanted, He would be disobeying His Holy Father in heaven and thus, Christ would would not be perfect; he would have committed sin. However, because He is without sin, Christ cannot disobey His Heavenly Father, but be obedient to Him and do the will of His Father. Because of Adam's sin in the Garden of Eden, God gave His only begotten Son to die on the cross for sin. He became the 'second Adam', fulfilling what Adam failed to do, which is being obedient to God. Without Christ's death on the cross, no one who is chosen by God as His 'elect' would have eternal life, which would make our praise, worship and obedience to Him totally in vain. There would be no hope of salvation and eternal life if He hadn't died for sin.

Dear Brother/Sister

Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) said that he is a Messiah the Christ, prophet, to the Jews they did not believe.
and according to the Commandments of Jews, a person who blasphemy should be put to death.

And according to Christians, and their law or book,
if Jesus Christ goes away then only the sprit of truth will come.

But according to Muslims, He was neither crucified nor did he die. It was made to look like it, and he was taken away to heaven by God and he will return again.

and Muslims say that the sprit of truth, Christians are waiting for is non other then Mohammed peace be upon him.

It is a lengthy topic and requires lot of explanation with proofs but this area does not allow that much space.
Hope this is clear.

It is a very long...long answer...which starts back in the book of genesis...and, actually..even before that...but, goes on to the "shadow" (priesthood and temple) ...there is a "story" laid out in the old testiment..very interesting...and unfolds in the gospels...and is revealed, starting with differant things Jesus said during His ministry, and continues after the decention of the Holy Spirit...and, throughout the books of the new test. we can "glean" what these things were, if we also read the books that Jesus read too..."Peace!"

Obedience to the Father.

Philippians 2:8 (New International Version)

8And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
