There is plenty of room in the US..So let them in..they work and pay taxes ( at least when they spend money)
Immigration has made America..what if the US had closed the door on recent your ancestors....Where would you be now?

the Graham H comment about Calif n Texas is Valid..
America is a nation of Immigrants.
There was continuous war in Europe 'till the EU was created. Sooner or later there will be American Union with freedom live or work anywhere.
Creating opportunities for the poor to catch up with the rich.
The US is should spend less on it's bogus war on terror and do more to help it poorer neighbors. They wouldn't be coming in illegal if they were not desperate and the gap between them and Rich America was so not wide.
We have the same debate going on in the UK..

Not only that, they are no more illegal than US citizens are. They are comming to California and Texas both of which belonged to Mexico before the USA stole them by force along with New Mexico and Arizona.
In fact Stephen Austin brought the first US citizens in as settlers with the kind permission of the Mexican government on condition that they accepted Mexican citizenship, Mexican family names and Catholicism. Then the settlers stabbed their host country in the back by fighting a War of Independance led by Houston then joined the USA by anexation after the Mexican American war.
So why should the US citizens have any more right to talk about 'illegals' than Mexicans?

Most economists agree that America does need more immigrants, despite the rhetoric coming from the anti-immigration activists.
Natural birth rates within the United States have actually been falling while the population on average is getting older. There will not be enough native-born Americans to replenish the work force (barring any economic castastrophe) as aging baby boomers retire in droves, putting a strain on Social Security and health care. Thus, skilled professional work (especially in the medical field) as well as unskilled labor from immigrants is in high demand.

I have no problem with immigration. And I agree with - I, Robot -. Although I do have to say that I'm rather tired of hearing, "They accept the jobs that U.S. citizens don't want to work." There are plenty of poor U.S. citizens who are willing to shovel poop if it means keeping a roof over their heads and food on their tables.

If you're pro, this isn't the way to go about it. Anti's always say that pros are more violent and rude, you're just proving their point correct. Now I'm anti/pro so I see both points. Just be careful with what you say, and make sure that you're the bigger person in the situation. This is a heated discussion so of course peoples mouths are going to fly, but just be careful what comes out.

America welcomes LEGAL immigrants and there is no doubt we need them as much as they need us. We learn from them, they learn from us and in the best case scenario we develop a mutual trust and appreciation for each other. It is unfortunate that so many people, like yourself, lack the ability to separate immigration and the illegal entry into our country. We welcome, make provisions for, support and ensure those here legally are properly protected. We do not need and we should not welcome (as Mayor Giuliani did) illegal (undocumented) aliens into our country, our society, our workforce. We have laws that allow for the solicitation and control of immigrants into our country. They have always brought with them valuable contributions to the betterment of the United States and we will always welcome them. The problems we are having are with the illegal aliens who bypass the legal means of entering our community. They come here, demand more rights than we allow our own citizens, tear down our flag replacing it with their own, march in our streets in civil disorder, boycott our business's because the owner does not hire illegals, and threaten to overthrow our country, We do need more immigrants and our laws need to be updated simplifying the process, allowing for faster processing of applications obtaining better input as to the need and use of temporary (workforce) immigrants and students. We need to do a lot of work on our immigration program but we do not need to welcome illegals into our country. Giuliani openly invited undocumented immigrant to New York and harbored them (you are welcome to come here and remain here as long as you do not commit a crime; the day they illegally entered the U.S. and everyday they remained here they were committing a crime. What you need to consider is that the person you pay $5.00 an hour wages is probably not paying taxes and when they go to the hospital or their kids go to school your taxes are paying the bill. If you are making 5$ an hour you probably don't pay taxes so it means little too you. Big businesses who get by paying minimum wages under the table are the ones benefiting. We can not condemn the illegals for wanting to better their life but we can not condone illegal acts from anyone. Is it okay if someone parks their car on your lawn? When your neighbor gets sick are you willing to pay part of his/her doctor bill? Do you buy pencils and paper and pay school expenses for the kids in the area? You do it you pay taxes and you pay more because others are not paying their share or not at all. It is estimated the illegals in the United States are using close to 10 million barrels of gas a year and 7 to 8 million barrels of heating oil. We need LEGAL immigrants and we welcome them. Clinton, Reid, Giuliani, Obama and others are content with having the illegals because the illegals help make big business richer who pays the special interest groups who get these kind of politicians into office.

If brains were dynamite you could not blow your nose! Do you want to destroy the America Culture to save a few bucks?
Do you not have children? Don't you want them to grow up in the same county we grew up in or do you want them to grow up in Mexico....either case it is easier to send them to Mexico.

I certainly am not going to 'shut up' because I don't want to mow your lawn. That you may want to pay slave wages for your own personal gain despite the impact on the country overall says something about you, but not that we need to 'shut up' so you can get your lawn mowed, cheap.
