While there plenty of publications testifying to your 'well known fact,' there is nothing in reality that can measure this sort of impact. It is all mere conjecture. Moreover, as the global population grows, it shrinks the lines of communication. As technology increases in leaps and bounds, it decreases the lines of communication. This brings us all closer and far more intimate than we are accustomed too or even like. Does this make it wrong? Not in the slightest. The reality is, as the Global community continues to grow closer, hositilities towards one another will be the growing pains, but it does bring up the quality of life in other countries, while also bringing up the quality of life here. Globalization is not a zero-sum game. The hecklers and proponents of Globalization have been making this their war cry since the 70s, when outsourcing became a hot item, and now going on 40 years later there is still no evidence of it being a zero-sum game. What this does is it increases competition, which means we have to work harder to be number one. This, in turn, causes dramatic changes that are benefial to all humans.
You cannot stop Globalization, as it will continue unabashed. You can come to grips with the reality of the situation and not fear the future and the inevitable.

We cannot stop globalization. While it typically does get a bad rap, there are positives to global influence in previously isolated communities (AIDS intervention in Africa).
Increased interaction with parts of the world is leading towards more global understanding. In addition, globalization has brought many just as many things to more developed nations as it has lesser - Thai food, for one delicious example.
Why do you cite an end to nationalism as only a negitive. Patriotism is not always good. Blind patriotism is one of the most distructive forces on the planet.
While we move to a more globally integrated society, we should work to minimize the extinction of any culture, while promoting the free exchange of political thought, cultural awareness, and embrace our ability as humans to be so different.

If you are talking about globalization by erasing our borders and allowing 3rd worlders to enter our country and erase our national sovereignty than the answer is obvious. Seal the borders and enforce the laws on the books already!
If you are speaking in larger more broader terms such as the "global" economy than the answer is I'm all for it! A sovereign nation cannot and should not stop trade and dialog with its neighbors. Global economization is good as long as you don't do it with a trade deficit.

thats not at all what globalization really is. Globalization is more about interdependant economies. Think about it--if all of Saddams money had come from auto plants-chemical plants--textiles--that were all used by other countries--if his economy had been dependent on a free market economy--he would never have been able to create the problems he did-and there would have been no war needed. Interdependance can breed peace on the globe

Do we want to stop it? Globalisation is lifting millions of people out of poverty, all you have to do to stay afloat as it happens is keep training and learning and always pick the best job for you and be ready to change it if necessary.
Globalisation is the best thing that ever happened, and it doesn't have to be the end of cultural identities.

Well, I'm afraid it might be inevitable. But to keep it at bay as long as possible, you need to not elect politicians who seek to water down our national identity by allowing the free flow of illegals and who look to foreign laws for our own Constitutional clarifications. Also, stop trying to make everyone love us. By doing so, we intentionally adjust our nation to please others, becoming more like them and losing little by little what makes the US unique.
