I'm 21 years old, and have wasted 3 years in college, slacking off and underachieving. I know my problem is that I'm not motivated enough to work for what I want, and I think the military will instill that kind of discipline in me. I'm hesitant to join the military, because I'm not sure if this is the "easy way out" for me, or if this is really what I need to set myself straight.

My AFQT score was 99, and my standard scores were 76 for GS, 68 for AR, 75 for WK, 63 for PC, 68 for EI, 66 for AS, 73 for MC, 64 for AO, and 71 for VE. My recruiter tells me I could pick ANY job in the Navy with these scores, and I love the idea that I have so many options... I'm just not sure what I want to do. I want to be able to pick a rate that I will do worthwhile work in.

Physically, I'm a complete creampuff and while my parents are so far pretty supportive, my boyfriend is not happy about the prospect of a long distance relationship. Is the Navy (or even, military) for me?

Also - I'm bilingual (Chinese is my 2nd language) and I think CTI might be an interesting field for me. I'm preparing to take my DLAB next Tuesday.

as long as you are a US Citizen who does not have relatives in Foreign government, the CTI community would snap you up in a heart beat.

HOWEVER. only YOU can motivate yourself to succeed, the military will not babysit you. you will either do well at DLI or you won't, nobody is going to hold your hand and make you study.

I was or still am in the same situation. i am in the middle of my 3rd year in college and i felt burned out. So i joined the Army ROTC. the reason why i did not droped out of college and enlisted inmideately was to honor a promise i made to my mom and an advice from a friend who is in the National Guard who adviced me to finish college.

whether the navy or the military is for you, only you can answer that question.if you feel that the navy is your call then go for it.But if you don't feel that the Armed Forces are your call then don't. It's a tough job and you must be 100% sure that you go all the way

I can only say what i know about. I wanted to join the military but couldnt. However my father was in the navy as was most of my family. My sister joined and met her husband in Fl. after they were married they got sent to different post. He was sent to Maryland and she was sent to Hawaii and they worked it out they have 4 kids and been married now for 14 years. Do i think it will work yes.. as long as both parties are open and understanding. I grew up with military people and we kids learned anything is possible as long as we trust and believe. I hope and wish you the best in this. I hope i have helped in some small way. I tried the college thing and it didnt work for me either. I didnt find it was for me at all. Good luck.

My husband is interior the army and wehave pals interior the Marines. The Marines will consistently enable you recognize that there preparation is the toughest. regardless of if or not it incredibly is real, i truthfully do not comprehend. i comprehend that as quickly as my husband went by using BCT it replace into enormously brutal. that is extra suitable than purely the actual factor, however. that is form of ironic the way you loose each and every ounce of freedom you have so as to coach to shelter freedom. for a brilliant variety of folk that's the journey of loosing that freedom, being far flung from dwelling house and kinfolk, and the psychological exhaustion that particularly gets them. Which ever branch you go with might have that is execs and cons and that's significant which you you would be wanting to maintain your chin up reason it gets extra suited. BCT stands out as the toughest area, as quickly as you get thoguh that it would be college (which could be mentally complicated) and then your accountability station. Be arranged for deployment and be certain you study jobs and locate out what you qualify for. do not sell your self short via GED factor. think of approximately what you're particularly fascinated in and have some innovations in techniques. Then communicate to your recruiter approximately your innovations and the thank you to get the place you prefer to be. sturdy success!!!

I am a female and spent 7 years in the Navy as an FMF Aerospace Medical Technician and loved every minute of it. You should look into going in as a corpsman (medical field). From there you can get specialized training that you can transfer to a civilian job if you choose to get out.

What ever you do, do not enlist without already choosing an "A" school. That means don't go in unrated.
