Mixed Breeds can be the healthiest dogs. I don't know much about that mix but a good idea would be to read about both of those breeds to learn about them.

Pits can be great dogs but they need great parents. Lots of different definitions of "pits" out there so spend some time learning about those definitions.

First of all, Rottweilers and pits do not turn on their owners and bite them if they are good owners! Unfortunately pit bulls have a history of being mistreated and abused by their owners and most of the time the wrong kind of people own both of these breeds for the wrong reasons. Half of these people think the dog should train itself and if they throw it in the backyard and never do anything with it, it will still have perfect manners. ANY UNTRAINED ANIMAL WILL ACT LIKE A WILD ANIMAL. They are in no way aggressive towards humans by nature and are extremely loving breeds.
With that said, both of these dog breeds are very large and strong, do you have room for an 80lb or larger dog? They will also take a lot of time and training, these dogs need to be walked frequently and consistantly for them to release pent up energy and behave properly. Most people don't know this but pit bulls are very high energy frisbee type dogs. My two girls are bouncing off the walls if they don't get their 45 minute walk each day and they still have a ton of energy after that. (Another great way to exercise them is to ride a bike and let them run next to it, these guys are fast!) They love to play frisbee and fetch and basically just run as much as possible, we take them to the baseball diamonds over by our house and they love it because they can get into a full sprint, which they can't do in our backyard.
I would highly recommend reading Cesar Millan's book "My Way" and watching his show "The Dog Whisperer" on the National Geographic Channel. He has done wonderful things for both of these breeds and will show you the best way to train your dog. I follow his principals and its worked wonders with my two female pits. Good Luck!

This is not a breed. Because it is mixed, it could exhibit qualities of both breeds present in his mix. It would be helpful for you to begin researching both Rotties and Pit Bulls to get an idea on the personalities, temperments, and breed specific traits of the two.
Pitties are generally medium sized dogs ranging from 50-70 lbs, while Rotties are considerably larger and can grow to 115 lbs. Your dog may take after the Pit Bull in size, or the Rottie...only time will tell. Pit Bulls are an extremly high-energy breed, while Rotties tend to be calmer. Your dog could take after either side....only time will tell. Both dogs will require strict obedience training and a stern leader. Both dogs require steady socialization as well. Look into both breeds and assume your dog will posess both qualities.

I dont have a mix like that but i know that any puppy that is brought up with love and discipline can turn out good. Having said that just remember any dog that is as big as a rotty, no matter what kind it is, is certainly a libality. If that dog were to hurt someone, you will be responsible and the dog will be put down. People are scared of black and tan dogs anyway because of doberman and rotty attacks. actually you dont hear about that many rottys attacking because they are sweet dogs but they are very protective and given the right situation they will attack. I had dobermans, and I had to really watch him. He would run up to someone, wanting to greet them and get some lovin' and they would see that 100 lb dog running towards them and start running away. this action is very bad because he would immediatly start chasing after them. I would always tell people to stand still he just wants to meet you. on the up side tho, you will never ever have to be worried about someone coming in your house and hurting you. So just be very careful and know what you are getting in to. read up on the breeds on the internet. do some research first.

Your guy will have the heritage of both parents, but will be influence by how he is raised.
The combination you have will produce a strong bodied and strong willed, protective puppy. You need to be sure you establish a strong pack leader IN YOURSELF.
And teach him to be loving and gentle and give him lots of things to do with lots of exercise. This is a working dog and needs to be given tasks to do.
I think the dog always displays the way it was raised. And this boy with good food should get to be 60 to 80 lbs and probably 22 to 26 inches at the shoulders. Good food makes a body good.

Do you own a house? Many insurance companies are starting to cancel insurance of people with Rottweilers and Pitt Bulls because even if they are good dogs, they sometimes turn on the owners or bite people. It's in their nature and not their fault, but you might want to rethink it.
