kleighs mommy - 1 week old? Really? Was your kid walking at 2 weeks?
Anyway. Our daughter recognized her name around 4-5 months old. She is now 7 months.

My son is 4 months old and when we call him he turns around.

Gee, I couldn't tell you exactly when but I am sure that by the time they would sit up they both knew their names. I also always made it a point to call them by their names and not refer to either of my boys as "the baby" or cutesy things like that.

mine would turn and look at us when we said his name from about 1 week old some earlier some younger. we called him by his name before he was born
