from august through the end of this year I am working a job making 9 an hour working full time making over 1,000 a month. I just turned 18 in nov. From jan to june I was making 7 an hour pulling maybe 450-500 a month. At my current job I have already lost over 1,000 to taxes in just 3 months. My overall yearly income should be about about 7000-8000 minimum. I plan on going on a road trip next summer so all of my tax return will be going towards it along with other money I will have saved up. Can anyone give my a good guesstimate on what my tax return will look like. I dont have any claims for my taxes (ie kids, wife, an so on)

If you just turned 18 it's likely that your parents will still be claiming you as a dependent. That costs you your personal exemption and increases your tax.

Assuming you made $8,000 you'd have $2,650 in taxable income and would owe $265 in Federal income tax. If the $1,000 withheld includes Social Security and Medicare taxes you're probably looking at around $125 or so for your refund when you file.
