Rather than the semantics I'm more interested in the idea that skeptics are essential to faith, somewhat like without Judas''s betrayal, manking would be SOL.

Yes. If God came down and pesonally spoke to everyone, then theism would exist and atheism would not. They may still choose not to worship God, but they could no longer believe that God does not exist.

That's like asking can organization be possible without disorganization. You are asking about words.
If I believe in God, I am a theist. If I don't, I am an atheist. It's just rules of English grammar.

I don't see how you could ever have an absence of atheism. Oh, yeah, you could prove there was a God to absolutely everybody, indisputably. Good luck.

"Absence" is a negative, a zero, a lack and not something existing.
