Adoptive Father - you are correct. He blocks all of us Catholics from answering, so I'm just having a little fun. Looks like a fe people on here need to lighten up and actually READ the question.

I really have to rest up on the sabbath because I am so exhausted from worshiping Mary, the Pope, statues, rosary beads and thousands of saints during the week!
By the time I finish adoring, worshiping and praying to all these people and inanimate objects, I barely have the time and energy for anything else!
Some people simply worship a book that the Church compiled and that seems to be much easier - perhaps I should try that.

Why on earth would you ask a question about Catholicism and then block Catholics from answering?
Not saying you would do such a thing, I think you understand what I am getting at.

its wierd because i actually can understand why we do this...when i imagine myself a protestant.
i cant imagine myself an atheist for some strange reason but i would think they can see through this LIE more easily than and perpetuated by protestants, our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Peace to all
EDIT: LOL @ James O. are you sure about your facts? cos as far as i know we can still eat our babies but yeah i heard world domination was off the agenda. not fair!

Hee-hee! You beat me to it -- I was about to ask the same thing, since a certain rather juvenile poster seems to think it's clever to block every Catholic he can and then ask questions like this.
Ahem. To answer the question so as to be properly in compliance with the community guidelines: You're right, we don't.

tis all part of our plan for global and spiritual world domination, headed by satan ofcourse. that crazy fellow gave us a bible that reveals whom he is and where his seat of power is lest you forget.
lol, good one, had i not read whom the question was from i was already for a nice long sigh and a here we go again attitude. my prayers are with you and your family at this time, may your loved one rest in the peace of christ.

You forgot to mention that we worship statues, say those awful repetitive prayer Rosaries, and call our priests "Father."
Tsk, tsk, Spiritroaming -- yer a disgrace to heathern, pagan, idol-worshipping Catholics everywhere!
(Note to the humorously impaired among us: the preceding was a JOKE.)

As Catholics, we worship none of the above. We do what is known as 'veneration' of Mary and the saints, and simply hold the Pope in such esteem as the medievel ages held their kings in esteem.
To elaborate, because we believe Mary to be 'immaculate' (Without sin, since only a sinless person could give birth to Jesus) we hold her in a high position. But by no means do we worship her. Rather, we ask her to 'intercede' on our behalf. We pray 'through' her rather than to her. We ask her to bring our petitions and prayers to her Son. Wouldn't it make sense that Jesus should listen to his mother a bit more than just to us? So when we pray before her statue or just say a prayer to Mary, we're asking that she in turn pray to Jesus for us.
As for the saints, we merely ask that they pray to God for us on our behalf. They led very holy exemplary lives and by having them pray for us, it helps our cause. It's really the difference between having one person praying for their cause, and having multiple saints and Mary also praying for them. Power in numbers!
In regards to the Pope, we simply do not pray to him. He is our spiritual advisor. He lets us know what is moral and what is not. Such encyclicals as 'humanae vitae' by Paul VI define what we believe as Catholics, in this case: life issues, especially on birth control.
So to wrap it up, we worship no one but God himself. All prayers said to the saints or Mary are, in the end, directed towards God himself. If you are still left in question, please don't hesitate to ask, or use the wonderful book called 'The Catechism of the Catholic Church'. It holds just about all the information about everything we believe as Catholics.
God Bless

Are you copying Kurt.
Of course you don't adore Mary and the Saints or the pope.
We honor them.
But worship in British English is less strong than in American...I think that's why we can say your worshipful...etc.
The technical terms in Greek are:
Latria: Adoration of God
Hyperdualia: For the mother of God
Dualia:For the Saints.
