I think they make you wait 1 year after the birth, just incase something 'god forbid' should happen to the child in early life. Also not sure of the reason that you want a TID but if its just to prevent a further pregnancy, use a longer lasting contraception becuase you will prob change your mind about children when your little baby is born and a few months down the track when you have bonded with him/her.

In this day and age, you can find a doctor who will do just about anything. That said, most doctors won't do a tubal ligation on a 21 year old having a first child. They will most likely recommend a IUD or something similar, and for good reason: Your perspective will change in the future.

It took me a while to figure out what you're asking, but I concluded you want a tubal ligation after this child. You'll just have to ask your doc. I think if you want something you should be able to get it, but this is one of those life-changing things that might not be reasonable. There are types of birth control available that you don't have to worry about for 5 years at a time. Think about something like that before surgery.

I don't think so. Here in Michigan, where I live, you can't have your tubes tied until you are 26. Check with the state in which you live to find out for certain.
