the idea is that in heaven god will be the supreme and only ruler, right? also, feudal words like "king", "lord", and the Persian imperial title "king of kings" still persist in popular Christian speech.

so why do "we" tolerate this mere republic? why can't we declare Jesus the supreme lord and king of the world and have officers run the government in his name? surely the government of heaven is good enough for the government of earth, right?

Theocracy ! It will crush, pulverize, smash
(depending on which translation you read)
all other forms of government (rulerships)
and it (God's rule) will stand forever--
Consider Daniel 2:44
(This same Bible writer was inspired by God
to record the rise/fall of all those manmade governments
in detail no reasonable person can deny)
The present woes are a result of disobedience
to God's right to rule. We all suffer...
Yet, examine the Good News!!!
By means of an illustration, think about this:
If YOU had the power would YOU not
take action? At God's right hand, the rightful
King Christ is already ruling over Christians in
the midst of his enemies, but will soon ACT to
remove those enemies at the appointed time
and rule over obedient mankind for 1,000 yrs.

Does the Bible tell us what happens after that?

YES,many things!
(Consider 1Corinthians 15:23----28) The Son,
(Christ) turns everything over to his Father,
so that GOD may be all things to everyone.
Fulfillment of God's original purpose for mankind
on Earth, (His glorious footstool) never to be challenged again.
At the present time we NEED a MEDIATOR (Jesus)
After the 1,000 yrs, Our Father Jehovah will commune with us
as He did with Adam before sin entered in.

As a Christian, I can see this would be a horrible idea. Why? It's been tried with the Catholic church. It wasn't a good idea then, and it still won't be now. At this present time, the religion of Islam is going the way the Catholic church did. Any religion that is given political/legislative authority has huge drawbacks, because so much of it is decided by mere men and their interpretation of the moment.
The church is not even to be of this world. The scriptures have shown us all governments are corrupt. We really ought not to be involved in it.

The Kingdom of Heaven is coming my friend, but man will not initiate it. Christ's return will make it happen. We are seeking the Kingdom of God as Christians and we know it is coming.

Christ says when He returns every eye will see Him. Also every knee will bow to Him . . . that is every knee. No man escapes this. We will all be judged according to the Word of God and we don't even read the Book, but Christ is the great Judge of mankind. We will all say - YES LORD.

This mere republic was established by men who knew "whom God sets free is free indeed." We have traitors in our midst who want to change the republic to suit their ungodly ways. This is not a Secular Humanists America. This is a Christian America. Maybe baby Christians but Christians indeed who love the freedom given to them by Almighty God.

God not in any respect needed Israel to have a monarchy. They insisted they needed a king, in order to be better like the countries round them. So God gave them what they needed. His favored type of authorities is the only which he will rule in His kingdom contained in the destiny, with Himself as king - a theocracy. for sure, this kind of govermnent (theocracy) gained't paintings in our modern-day, as God isn't operating because the ruler of any united states of america at present, and He gained't till He gadgets up His kingdom. As for what type of authorities might want to paintings, look lower back to God's initial education to Israel - He had Moses set up representatives from each and each of the tribes once they were given out of Egypt. This appears to be like a demonstration that God prefers a representative authorities, with a reliable justice device yet also a device that enables the individuals the right to be heard and clarify themselves.

Because man is a faulty creature, and does not have the wisdom of God to run earth like heaven. Even a man with the best of intentions would find himself torn between his desires and the desires of God. Look at Solomon. God gave him wisdom beyond what has been given to any other man to rule his people well. It wasn't long before he began giving in to his own wishes instead of using his godly wisdom. I mean where is the wisdom in having 700 mother-in-laws?

Interestingly, Jesus came to earth to announce the Kingdom of God. The Bible is about 80% government...how to live at peace with God and your neighbor.

governments and kings are creations of man, no of God. When his rule here on earth comes, and it will, regardless of your silly little opinions, man will have no part. Nor will it be as man has, flawed, oppressive, taxed. The world will rejoice that now a true just, and Honorable authority is in control. For ever and ever.

Very interesting, grasshopper. But that presumes Jesus really exists. If you're gonna choose a form of government based on fantasy, I would much prefer the Federation in Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek series.

The ideal situation is the republic that willing chooses to honor Christ as Lord. For every knee will bow (willingly) to God in heaven....why not also on earth?

After all, it was a saying of our founder and early forefathers, "There is no king but king Jesus!"
