This could be answered many different ways, no I am not claiming to be Christian, because I see this as a label. Under this label you have Baptist, Catholics, Protestants, Methodist and the list goes on. They all claim to be "Christians" can someone tell me the true meaning of this word? Anyway, after spending several months @ a Catholic Church, I feel that by what I was taught, the Catholic faith breaks one of the 10 Commandments, they kneel, bow and pray to a statue, but it is not up to me to judge if they are "Christian", ask one if they are a "Born Again Christian", see what kind of response you get on that one.

Yes.

Most non-Catholic Christian denominations accept Catholics as Christians. A very few do not.

The World Council of Churches which brings together more than 340 churches, denominations and church fellowships in over 100 countries and territories throughout the world, representing some 550 million Christians accepts the 1.1 billion Catholics as Christians. http://wcc-coe.org/wcc/who/faq-e.html#07

A dictionary would say that a Christian is someone professing belief in Jesus as Christ or following the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus.

Catholics would fit this definition.

In the Nicene creed, from 325 C.E., Catholics profess:

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father.

Through Him all things were made.

For us and our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died, and was buried.

On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We are baptized as Jesus commanded in Matthew 28:19, "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."

We truly are spiritually "born again," we just don't usually use those words.

For a complete description of what Catholics believe, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/index.htm

With love in Christ.

Catholics are a denomination of Christianity. E.g. Baptists, Eastern Orthodox and Protestants.

According to the worldview and title Catholics are Christians. But, according to Scripture the only people who can be called Christians are those who have acknowledged their sin with the intellect(babies can't do this), have repented of their sin and are truly sorry for their sins emotionally(babies can't do this) and have made a commitment to follow Christ, ask for His forgiveness and ask Him to save them from hell willfully(babies can't do this). According to Catholic sacraments the only time a person does this is as a baby at baptism and the baby is unaware of what is going on and therefore it is not imputed to them as righteousness. Now, if a Catholic reads the Bible and understands the gospel and that they have to do what I stated earlier for themselves then they can be a saved Catholic. I just don't see why they would continue going to Catholic church after becoming born-again.

Oh, dear. It's far too early for a drink.

Um, yes. We are Christian.

Now ask if we're "saved" and watch what happens.

yes, catholics are christians. but it is a misconception that we worship the virgin mary and statues. we dont worship statues. they are just images. its like going up to a cross, kneeling, and praying. are you praying to the cross? no. you are at an icon. thats all it is :-)
