I don't see how someone can get over a person after being with them for a year, two years, etc. and then move on to someone else within a few weeks.

You're right, that isn't healthy. But many people, especially men, believe this is what it takes to get over someone.
Professionals say any long-term relationship can take from 1-2 years to get over.
So take it slow.

dude i went through the same thing with my ex. we were together for a year and a few months but it was a terrible relationship although i still loved her and she loved me, but i found out that she was hanging out with this guy and she liked him and they kiss and what not. apparently she isnt ready for another relationship but yet she acts like they are together, or at least i think unless she is just lying to make me jealous or some crap like that. but yeah, alot of girls are stupid that way and just need to be with someone. guys arent so dependant on love and affection as they are thats why women are more likely to leave a relationship for someone else

sometimes if they are truely not happy in a realtionship it was really over before you became it was aware it was actully over. other times it is just the void of having someone they need to fill. usually those rebound relationships do not last.

WELL SOMETIMES PEOPLE MOVE ON TO GET OVER SOMEONE.....IT ALL DEPENDS ON IF IT WAS A GOOD RELATIONSHIP OR A BAD RELATIONSHIP.

If they really loved them, they can't. You might replace them physically but you aren't over them completely. It takes time to do that.
