Did immigrants come to America for us to pay for them to live, or come to work for a better life?

Let me be MORE CLEAR, for someone who answered. 33% of immigrants are on welfare. 31% of them are Hispanic....get it?

Fox News only said immigrants, JUST ME, they didn't say illegal. I don't really see what difference it makes, since American citizens are paying for them to live. You don't even need to believe me. Just look it up for yourself. Fox News: America's Newsroom is the source.

I just love the argument some people have that American citizens get welfare so why shouldn't immigrants (both legal and illegal)?

The reason they shouldn't get welfare or ANY social service of any type for many years once they immigrate legally (of course illegals shouldn't get anything but the boot), is because there are about 3-4 BILLION people in this world who would LOVE to get those freebies. If we are not picky about the 1.3+ million we let in legally every year and know they can support themselves while being productive members of this country then we might as well turn out the lights and never let another person in.

There will be no faster end to this country then to flood it with people who are lazy, uneducated and refuse to assimilate.

Because they can! Despite having difficulty with your 'stats', it is true that the 'new' immigrant is certainly different than the newcomer who came to our shores several decades ago.

Of course, there will always be immense benefits from immigration, and not solely to the immigrant and this is the salient point here: Immigration is meant to serve the host nation and not the immigrant.

I believe all help should be refused to anyone unless they have medical reasons, and lazy isn't one of them.

You need plenty of proof from Dr.s for this help.

My step dad just lost his leg from diabetes and he can't get half the help lazy healthy people can. it ticks me off.

I don't care if your legal or illegal. if you can work you don't deserve to be on welfare and I am sick and tired of paying for it!
