It would completely depend on WHY they were on benefits. If it was a temporary measure and the circumstances were beyond their control then that is a whole lot different to someone being on benefits because they couldn't be ars*d. I think if I was the sole breadwinner for any length of time it would have a negative effect on the dynamic of the relationship, regardless of how in love a couple are its a fact that many men feel emasculated if they have to constantly rely on a woman for money.

i just hope you never have to claim benefits . i do im am riddled with arthritis thankfuly my partner is not like you he is the sole provider. i worked all my life before i got this. but just think there is someone just like you out there how would you feel if they walked away from you because you could no longer work and had to claim benefits.

be careful with that one. One guy I was dating told me he was on benefits more than he actually was. He got food stamps and that was it. He took me to the cleaners and a year later I'm still trying to dig myself out of a hole. He would make me feel guilty by making me pay for school for him, telling me what a great job he'd get and support us etc. I will never EVER do it again.

with the exception of incapacity claimants, or family credit for poorer families, personally i wouldn't go near.......this country has 1.6m unemployed of which i'm sure around half or more are unemployable and another huge number on long term incapacity benefits - what a way to live!

Definitely not if it was a long term thing, if they were in between jobs yes, but if they were lazy & just couldnt be bothered to work, no, cant be doin with men that have no direction in life.

depends. my friend was on benefits as he lost his job, took 6 months to get a new one.. his girlfriend at the time didn't expect him to take her out and spend loads of money on her.

if someone is so materialist.. and I was on the dole, then I'd not bother..

so it depends on the person.
