I have a 12 yr old girl. The DS Lite is a great idea. She loves to go to Claires in the mall and get jewelry. So a gift certificate like that would be great. They are really into music, clothes, friends and shopping at this age. So anything that has to do with those would be great.

Well they love clothes and rings and toys, but an expository sltudy Bible she could like understand might be cool (KJV). Then a camera and you could get her an electronic game deal if she likes that, but wait until after Christmas when they will be 75% off, so you could send the other stuff. How about an 8X 10 of you and like they said a gift card? take care.

A gift card to pick out her own clothes at the mall. Kids are so materialistic now a days and a little cruel when it comes to being 'in style'. She will love it. My sister Meg did last year when I sent her one for her birthday.

I think it would depend on her personality, isn't it? Like for me, I was obsessed with Chinese history at 12, while my friend was obessed with Gameboy. well, i think the best gift is a gift voucher(like CDs, Electronics etc), let her choose herself. ;)

Well, why don't you give the girl a sheet of paper and ask her to write down the top ten things that she would want.
And then you may choose on that list what would suit your finacial status.
