You are only fooling yourself it the belief system is wrong.
And if I am fooling myself by believing in a loving and forgiving God who teaches me to love others, how does it harm you? If my God calls for me to accept and trust Him on Faith, it would show a lack of faith to seek some kind of proof.
I am a Christian. I trust my God completely. I need no more solid evidence than He has already shown my by changing my life for the better. He has given me a promise and I believe in it.
His promise is there for anyone and everyone.

Faith is just putting a belief into action. Belief is just "to hold as true".
What is the solid evidence on whether your Creator exists?
*None either way.
So go which direction?
*Go for what you really want.
What do you want?
*To find my Creator even though I don't know for sure He exists or
*to reject my Creator and have my independence from any authority.
In my understanding, we get what we want.

Faith is given,... no evidence,.. no nothing.
I TRUST what I know to be true based on the evidence I've seen and my own logic and reasoning ability.
