extract? Most of my family doesn't like mint or spearmint so I need to make the candy in a fruity flavor like cherry. If I can use extract instead, would I use the same quantity that is called for when using oil? Thank You.

Not sure how soon you need it...But if you can wait like a week....
Do a google search for LorAnn Oils...there will be a bunch of sites to choose from and you can ordered through them.
There are millions of flavors thru LorAnn Oils...they all taste and smell wonderful. Since the bottles are so small, shipping is cheap and most of the sites offer a package...I buy these bottles of Oils through my local cake/candy decorating shop and they have at least 50 diff flavors for about $1.40 a bottle and i use them in adding flavor to my cakes....
So if you aren't pressed for time, order some LorAnn Oils...

1 - do not substitue the oil for extract. the oil is there to form the texture as well as the taste.
2 - Never be tempted to just swap ingredients in th same quantity if you are unsure aboput their function in a recipe. Adding an equal amount of the extract would make the candy taste really strong as extract is a concentrate and oil an infusion.
try looking online for your oil.

No, it won't be good! Try the drug store, before you give up. That's where I got mine.
