Ray was of course a great welter and middleweight once challenging Maxim for the lghtheavy title before sucumbing to the heat in a fight he was winning. In this fight I have Ray coming in at about 170 lbs against the Mongoose in a 15 rounder.

Moore is bigger and also a very good boxer so I'd have to give it to him.

Would be a very close fight. Moore beat Maxim three times. Moore lost to Ezzard Charles a few times. Was Robinson as good a boxer as Charles? I think he was. The Robinson loss to Maxim would never have happened had the fight continued. I have Robinson taking a close decision.

I think Archie pulls out a close decision win over the Sugarman. Moore would just outmanuver Ray, especially in the late rounds.

Uhh.. Archie Moore fought at LHW and HW. Robinson never fought above MW. Yeah he fought Maxim, but still weighed in under MW limit. Needless to say, both guys are tops all-time in their respective best divisions.

Moore by knockout.

Moore would blast him out of the ring in 5 rounds. I get the feeling is that folks forget just how good AM was. Definitely the greatest Light Heavy of all time.
