Stress and eating habits can affect your cycle. dont know first hand myself being a guy, but wife had the same issues when she was in high school and later on. And yes you should have it looked into. My cousing had the same problem and ended up having a cyst. So take your friends advise and go to a DR.
and by the way your 13 shouldn't you be talking to your mother on this concern as well? Even if you have had sex your mother would be upset but would be mor concerned on your welfare.
I dont know how old your parents are or religous background but they were your age and believe or not they were perfect at your age. Believe I still am trying to figure out the whole don't do drugs discussion with my son when he is old enough to discuss it with.

If there is no possibility of a pregnancy, then you are just experiencing irregular periods. This is normal a lot of girls have this problem.. The only thing that ever helped me was to be put on birth control ....not to have sex , but to regulate my period. But your a little young for all that they can make you really sick if you get the wrong estrogen level. I would talk to your guardian about seeing the doctor to see if they can recommend anything. Any also make sure that is what's going on and it's not something else. I'm not a doc so....I would go see one..Blah blah bah...LOL

I got my period when I was 12 and then didn't get it again for a year. I'm not a specialist, but this may not be a problem since you're so young. But you should know that diet and exercise can affect your period. It could be that you're not eating enough for your body to expend the energy on menstruation. Athletes also tend to miss periods, for the same reason. There are still other more serious medical possibilities, so the best thing to do is go to the doctor.

For someone your age it is perfectly normal for you to have erratic periods at first. It can sometimes take a while for your body to establish a routine as it does not yet know how to handle the hormones. It will come steady after a while. This all happened to me when I first started - and I thought I was dying! It was nothing. Just evened out in the end.
Can you talk to your mum or someone you trust? The worst thing you can do is keep it to yourself or listen to silly stories and frighten yourself for no reason.
And steer clear of boys in a sexual nature until you are sure you are ready for children. Good for you.

There are many reasons why periods stop and it is very important the right reason is diagnosed. Your friends are right, you should see your doctor. I know it's a pain to book an appointment but it really would be the best thing to do. Good luck, I hope all goes well for you.

You're 13. Your period is a new thing. It will take several years for it to regulate itself. Very few women have clockwork periods.
You need to go see your Gyno. He/She can help you regulate your period and make sure there are n underlying problems. I know its embarrassing. I had to go when I was 12. But as you get older you realize how important it is to take care of your reproductive health.

Its pretty common, I went 6 months without mine at 13, it should eventually regulate, but a doctors visit wouldn't be a bad idea, but I don't imagine its anything too serious.

Hi,
this can often happen in teenagers of your age. because your body is still developing it can send your hormones all over the place. If you still feel concered you could speak to a school nurse or your GP, but from pass experience it normal.

the first few years its normal to get it off and on...especially if you play a lot of sports and are very physically active (many gymnasts, for example, don't get it at all). so don't worry! and enjoy the time off!

What did your parents say?
If your period is new to you maybe your body is setting it's period clock.
