g'day every1. Obviously this isn’t a question but I’m reading too much Muslim bashing on this thread. So I’m replying to every1. This isn’t a question but the truth about my fellow Muslims around the world and where the problem lies.
The problem is that “Muslims” have an ideology that anything that is “western” is anti-Islamic. What Muslims need to understand is that every civilization builds upon the one before it and there is no shame in this. When fundamental Muslims appose music, poetry, etc this attitude is a threat to human civilization.
Offcourse I have come in my life where Muslims have said to me that I’m no longer Muslim but hey, I do not believe in “sharia” law. I live in the greatest nation on earth and that is Australia. I follow the rules of my country. And I do not implement my religious beliefs on others. Muslims need to respect my view.

Muslims need to understand that human civilization has come forward from the times of sharia law but now we are in the 21st century where the civilized world is thriving for the stars, Muslims are worried about stupid things like name of a teddy bear. Its a joke
Muslims who are trying to force sharia law in the UK? Is this some sort of joke? Whatever happened to common sense? If you don’t like the laws in UK, p*ss off. I am myself against sharia law in modern day society. This law probably was a great law 1400 years ago. But the human race has moved forward from those times and Muslims need to understand the beauty for freedom and democracy.
There has never been a civilisation without enjoyment, love, peace, war, music and life. Anybody who opposes the beauty of human expression is against civilisation whether he is Hindu, Muslim, Jew or whatever. This attitude form many Muslims only strengthens the HISTORICAL FACT that Muslims are a bunch of uncivilised enemies of culture

and the arts since the fall of the OTTOMON EMPIRE. All religious movements go through this phase but they grow out of it. The problem with Muslims is that they are stuck in this phase and because of this fact has become a danger to civilisation everywhere.
I, proud Muslim, but there is only one way to go from where muslims are at the moment. And that is to go forward.
Myself, from down under!

Hey dude. You can live however you like. I might agree with you on some points but I don't agree with the part you said that "Sharia Law" is of no good anymore. I believe that Sharia should be placed in every Muslim country. It would make a better and crime-free society. Of course, it would only apply to Muslims.
Look at the crime rates in Pakistan. There are just too many robberies. I just hate it. Compare it with Saudi Arabia. They boast of being able to leave their jewelery shops unguarded when they go to pray. Anyway, I don't agree with their "Women not allowed to drive" policy.
Music - I think decent music is fine and there are scholars who feel the same way.
It's good that you still practice Islam. Peace be with you brother.

Some people say what you said but the essence of theology in the west came from Islam. Lets not forget that Greek works of Aristotle, Plato etc came to the west thought the medium of the Arabic language not Latin..
As for Australia how can this country great when it was built on the bodies of the dead native Australians who were killed because they were "uncivilised".
Also the invention of the ridiculous and evil thought of Eugenics. Read history with open eyes.

I have been toally put off the islamic religion (for several lifetimes over). Why? Because muslims, especially those in the sudan, are behaving so unreasonably and barbaric to the extreme. Sharia law? I don't think I have to tell you where they can put that.
I know for a fact that muhammad would laugh in the face of the islamic authorities for behaving in a manner that belittles and embarrasses islam...if not insults it altogether. No. Keep your islam.

You have made some valid points and have put forward a very reasonable point of view. I totally agree with what you say and you have said it without being abusive, rude or ignorant. Great question, although to be honest it doesn't need an answer because you answered your own question.

There is good and bad in all cultures.
My Karate teacher was a Muslim and he is one of the finest human beings you would ever want to meet. Broad minded, tolerant and wise. Like you, a credit to his belief.

Muslims don't need to "understand" anything. We would all like it better if they moved with the times, but the changing world has nothing to do with their core beliefs. Islam is not the problem, it's the wide (and incorrect) interpretation of the Koran, used for their own fundamentalist inspired purposes, that is the problem.

I agree. Its sad to see some Muslims stuck in the dark ages not moving forward with time.
They are giving Islam a bad rep.
Its even worse when they manipulate the teachings of Islam for their own personal gain.
