Father Guido II should know that the God of the Hebrews is also the God of Islam. Although he could be right about it being a "new" thing in the US. However, Islam has been in the US for more than 40 years, and it was only the aftermath of 9-11 did we all awaken to its real presence.
There is nothing wrong with Islam. It is a religion of beauty, peace, harmony, equality, and respect. Unfortunately, the jihadists have twisted the very meaning of real Islam to suit their twisted nature.
Read the Holy Quoran and learn from it. I am a Christian and yet I have read it and admire the teachins of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). Read the Holy Bible (NIV) and learn from it as well...find your place in God. Let God enter your heart regardless of what religion you think is right for you.

Because birth rates in the developing countries that count Islam as a main religion are uncotrollably high, and in those countries ALL residents are typically deemed Islamic (many have the death penalty for apostasy). Hence the numbers are unrepresentative and entirely unreliable.
In less repressive countries which are better developed, the reverse is true - Islam is suffering apostasy faster than almost any religion on Earth. Understandably.

Because the number of people in the world is increasing every day. As far as I'm aware, the ratio of Muslims to everybody else hasn't changed dramatically.

Because good always over comes evil.......no matter how much other religions defame Islam...it comes out on top by getting converts in numbers....and they dont have to pay people to convert like some famous sections of xtianity

Given that there is a positive growth in population in Muslim countries, I'd say its due to poor innocent babies being born into a barbaric religion.
