Dreaming of falling?!?!?

Question

Has anyone ever had a dream of falling off a cliff or building and knowing that once you hit the bottom, you will be dead.

I used to always have dreams of climbing a cliff and then just standing there look all the way down to the bottom.. at the bottom would be water, but I knew if I hit it, I'd die. But before I could even hit the bottom I'd wake up.

What does this mean and has anyone else had these kind of dreams?

hi it says in my book of understanding dreams that falling means........generally reflects fear of failure at work or some other inadequacy. in other contexts it may mean that dreamer is yielding to some romantic or sexual temptation and may be falling in love and upsets that do occur will be minor and just temporary

It's an old wives tale that if you dream of yourself actually dieing (falling off a cliff, car accident, etc.) that you are dead. It is a very common dream, and generally the dream can be so upsetting that it will wake you up.

it's something to do with 2 parts of your brain falling asleep at different times. One for motor and one for dreams/imagination/whatever. The sensation is what triggers the beginning part of the dream too, your brain searches thru it's experience library for the logical thoughts to accompany the sensation.

Yeah, I've had those dreams before. It has to do with feeling like you're losing control and not feeling grounded inwardly.
