I'm going to enroll in a program for medical billing and coding. It takes one year to complete, by which time I will be 45. I'm just a little concerned that maybe I have waited too late in life??

I'm 48 and I am going from truck driver to Accounting Office management. That is going to take me about the same amount of time as you are looking at. Other than trying to juggle real life in between homework, hubby and the "honey do" list...
It is never too late!!
Look at it this way too ( it may help) you are endeavouring to secure yourself a more suitable and stable work strategy.
By going back to school you are opening more doors for future employment that you will be able to function at when you get older

I don't think it is too late but i do think that you are pushing it because if you go to school at an age that is in the later years, you wont have time with your family whether you have kids or not. If your are thinking of your future, you should also want your family to remember the things that you did with them.

Go for it! I know of people who are going in the same field as you are and they are older. Just be good at what you do and have a passion for your new career.
