i think my female pitbull got raped... and might be pregnant. but she's too old to have puppies. she's 11 y/o for god's sake!!! and she has breathing difficulties, and she's definitely overweight. i dnt want her to suffer from it. what am i suppose to do? are there animal morning after pills?
if i were to have her puppies aborted, does it make me cruel?

this is specially dedicated to an *** face called andads, im not sure if he will be reading this. i wanted to msg him immediately after i saw the thing tht he posted here, but too bad, i can't, due to some technical difficulties. sorry if im getting a litle bias here. it is not scientifically proven that ALL PITBULLS ARE dangerous. who made this statement is COMPLETELY BLUNT AND DUMB (it rhymes...) and whoever who advice/recomend people to put down their dogs ought to be put themselves down first or at least go back to the kindergarten and learn the moral. my pitbull and rottweilers are all BETTER-EDUCATED than u. and i know them more than anyone do.
and wht d'u mean by "i deserve it"? whether i deserve it or not, it is none of ur business! the biggest mistake u have done is answering my question here.
DO A RESEARCH BEFORE ANSWERING MY QUESTION! IDIOT!
you know wht? u are v irritating.
sorry if it annoys u guys...

No, it wouldn't make you cruel to have puppies aborted, but it would make you cruel if you put her through whelping a litter at that age. You should not allow her to go through with the pregnancy, she has her own problems and is much too old. She won't properly care for them, if they survive, and if they don't have their own problems.

For her sake, check with your Vet immediately. Explain that your dog was unintentionally bred and your Vet will recommend whether she needs to be spayed at that time or not. Spaying just after breeding is a doggie "morning after pill" because nothing viable is there during those first few weeks. It's not a "puppy abortion". If your dog got pregnant, the Vet can spay her and that's much less risky than her going ahead and having the litter. They could all die in that case.
Spaying is the most humane thing to have done unless the Vet recommends otherwise.

Let me ask you this, if your mom got pregnant and the doctors told her that having the baby could kill her, would you feel that she was cruel if she decided to abort the baby? This isn't much different in the way that you need to consider the mother's life first. The babies aren't going to make it anyway if the mom isn't in a position to give birth so isn't it wiser to at least keep your dog alive and well? You are talking about a dog that is too old to have a litter without serious complications to either herself, the puppies or both! It is much less cruel to abort the litter than to force your dog to go through this at her age.
Call your vet and schedule a spay. They can just terminate the litter, but a full spay is usually safer and less traumatic.

Not cruel at all, at 11 she might not give birth to healthy pups at all. There are too many Bullies in the shelters already, why make more if you can help it. If she was in heat, she could be pregnant so see your vet. They may be to abort the litter without surgery if that might be too hard on her with her health problems, but your vet will advise you. There are dog "pills" but I know little about them. In humans the morning after pill is just really a high does of the birth control pill, so maybe there is a similar procedure for dogs as well.

Was she in heat? Then she cannot be pregant..is she spayed? then again she cannot get pregnant..
As far as possiblity.. If she is not spayed,,and was in heat.. there are several other issues OTHER than being pregant that can make her look like she is.. some are very serious and fatal..
If she is kept under control,, and unless you know she was out unattended in heat and a male could have had contact with her..(if this is NOT the case) then the odds are much higher that she has somting else going on,,
Off to the vet,, have her checked over,, she may not be pregant,, But look so.. and have somthing real serious else going on..
It is YOUR personal decision to decide if she is pregnant as to if you let her have the pups.. Keep in mind,, not only did she not ask for it, and it will be terribly difficult for her,, you will be taking homes from deserving dogs looking for homes with her pups.. Finding good homes takes a lot of work,, So my personal thoughts are NO.. you would not be at ALL cruel to decide to have her spayed ASAP.. and prevent the birth of unwanted dogs..and or death of mom.. or if you have any concerns as to if you can find GOOD stable homes that will take care of the dogs poperly for their entire lives.... or they also will end up rescue situations, neglected or abused.. and that is cruel..

it would not make you cruel...breathing problems is one of the heridiatry problems in pitbulls...the one thing i am curious about is why you don't have her spayed before it got this far...once she is tagged then she is already going through some stress and i think you should call the vet asap tommorow and discuss this with them...they are the ones that will beable to help you...being she is so old she might not have taken to the rapin but its still good to be on the safe side...also you might want to discuss with the vet a good healthy way of getting her weight down if she is already having breathing problems...you are talking to us as if we are the result of her possibly getting knocked up "she's 11 y/o for god's sake" maybe next time you should think about getting them fixed so you don't end up in this situation....have a wonderful day

poor puppers! I hope she'll be okay.
If she was in heat and her and the male dog 'tied' then you might have a reason to be concerned. I would call the vet as soon as you can tomorrow and talk about your options.
Is there a reason she isn't spayed yet? has she always had the breathing issues?
Only you and your vet can decide what the best choice is for her at this point.
Good Luck!

there is nothing really you can do if the dog is already pregnant and to far along just like a human, but take her to the vet as soon as she goes into labor , they would be able to help her so that she is comfy when she has the pups. and to make sure nothing goes wrong im not to sure if there is even a way to get ride of them before she has them if she is not to far along. old lady =^( i hope the best for you and your doggy, and or possible pups

just take her to the vet,and they will sort it for you,if you cant afford a vets fee, then take her to your local p.d.s.a. and they will help you for free,no you are not cruel you have your dogs best interest at heart, but dont go to the vet saying shes been raped, cos dogs dont get raped, just say you are concerned co a stray got her while on heat. good luck

See your vet immediately. He will probably take into consideration your dog's age and physical condition in making his assessment as to what is best for the animal.
Best of luck.
