I like this guy but...
- he tells a few fibs (lies)
- he's bad-tempered
- he's a jealous person
- he's demanding
- he gets mad if I go out
- he has a few girlfriends (or sleeping with them 'he says')
Yet, he can be the sweetest person I have ever met. I like him, sometimes I hate him, other times, I don't want to see/talk to him but would miss him terribly if I don't...I guess the bad stuff outweighs the one good bit here...
Is he for real?... I want to meet him before he goes in to do his Military Service ...
Are Turkish men like the above?

I don't mean to generalise but I have heard a lot of bad stories about Turkish men.. I am just wondering, that's all!
By the way, I know him for a quite a while now. I do know the difference between a virtual friendship and a real romance. I knew this at first so I didn't take it all seriously. I am only a person and I am asking because I am scared that one day the guard that I am holding on so tight would just fall and down I go... to this 'love' thing or to the path of destruction... I don't ******* know!

I was intending to give the best answer to hot turk, only because he proved my point that some, (not all) Turkish men have the attributes I've described..

there are a few like this and unfortunately they get the good guys a bad name. the ones like you describe are usually the ones that end up in 'take a break' or other magazines. This tends to give people preconceptions. This guy sounds like a player who wants his cake etc. I would be inclined to say stay clear, regardless of whether he is Turkish, English, Chinese or anything else.
I have been with my Turkish man for nearly 7 years now and he is nothing like you describe. If he was, i would have run a mile

Hmm,
I have to admit, everyone who says you ought to keep it moving is right.
No matter what cultural background you come from (I am turkish and male) I don't think that it can be a mark of your maturity.
Behavior such as lying is unacceptable from any man OR woman. But I must admit that sometimes as human beings we like it when our admirers get jealous, for some insane reason we feel more wanted.
Let him go do his military service. It might change his attitude. And my last thing to say is this:
It is not the pace at which we grow... It's that we grow...

I don't know about Turkish men, but if any man behaves that way its time to say goodbye.
He lies and apparently has relationships on the side? Why are you even considering this bloke when its obvious you can't trust him?
Also his jealousy and getting mad when you go out indicates that he either doesn't trust you or he likes to be in control. Neither is a good sign. The need to control you is actually one of the early warning signs that a relationship is becoming abusive. Remember its your right to go where you want and associate with whomever you want.
Overall Id say you already know he has to go as you said "the bad stuff outweighs the good"
He may be real but it sure isnt a real you would want.

I think that 'most likely' thing here is yes he is real but he is not normal...
No Turkish men are not like that at all.

Not all Turkish guys are like that.
I am a male, I don´t like this kind of behavior.

Turkish or not Turkish, he sounds jealous and there is no cure for jealousy,
why settle for someone who is already giving you a hard time before you have even met?

Sorry, you lost me at the first item, i.e. lying.
No, not all Turkish guys are like that and we dislike lies, bad-temper, extreme jealousy and sleeping around.
If you were my sister, I would tell you to forget about him. Short term misery is much preferable than any long term misery.
Well? What are you waiting for? Haven't you dumped him yet? Hmmm?

There are good guys and bad guys in every nation.
Don't be disappointed by the first Turkish guy you meet...
Generalizing about the attitude of just one Turkish guy, it's just like generalizing about Brazilian "easy-going" women, Italian " macho" men or " African " cheater" men,etc...
That's prejudice...
