You are having some problem related to depreviation of oxygen on exertion, the only reasons I can find are:
You do no physical activity.
You are a bit overweight so loose weight.
control fat and sugar in your diet.
No stimulants.
Have yourself consulted as lung and cardiac diseases need to be excluded.

Breathlessness could occur if you're overweight. Check that your Body Mass Index or BMI (that is a computation of your weight in kg over the square of your height in meters) is not above 25. You may not have mentioned all of your symptoms and it is difficult to pin down the cause of your pain, but if you also feel pain in your upper back - about where your heart is - then you may just have an ulcer. I advise that you visit your doctor for hands-on diagnosis. The earlier the better. Cheers!

You could just be unfit. If the chest pain is gripping you dial 999. If its stitch like ie muscular pain and settles after sitting or resting for a few minutes your probably fine. Rapid heart beat is normal for climbing stairs.
IF IN DOUBT GET CHECKED OUT!
Good Luck

How old are you. You could have a younger womens version of Congestive heart failure due to medications or any kind of underlying cause.Think about the enviroment you are in the longest through the day on a regular basis. I know when I am around people that smoke for extended periods of times I can have episodes liek you are describing if I got straight to work after being around the smoke. Also if you ae on birth control pills talk to your docotr about switching them. remember as a woman if you are drinking whey protien shakes just have 20-30 gm of protien at a time b/c any more in women can cause kidney failure. Good luck let me know how you are .

GO TO THE DOCTOR. GO NOW.
You are playing russian roullette with your heart.
It is a fact that those with heart issues cannot do stairs. When my husband had his attack, we lived in a 2 story house, I had to move because it took him 2 hours to climb 16 stairs. He could walk a mile, but 2 stairs almost put him back in the hospital.
You cannot receive medical advice without being examined. People here cannot tell what is truly wrong, only guess because they cannot see you.
GO TO THE DOCTOR even if you dont have insurance, in debt and alive is better than dead.

you should go to the hospital, I had 4 heart attacks and 1 of the times it was almost just like that. I thought it was some indigestion and got some water but the next day i went to get checked and sure enough it was a heart attack.

From the description it appears heart problem. You must get yourself checked and take treatment as per doctor's advised. sometimes it can be due to heavy gastric disorder. Do not sleep over it or it may lead to more complications later.
