There are dozens and dozens of medications for hypertension or high blood pressure.
The right one for any individual person needs to be chosen by an experienced doctor and the decision will be based on things like that persons past medical history, their family history, any other diseases they have, their blood test results etc etc etc
Dont try to self medicate - its a recipe for disaster !

If u have consulted a Dr. , he would have prescribed u some medication if the need arises and perhaps have blood tests done too to detect abnormalities.
Always take the medication prescribed by the Dr.& go for the check up regularly to ensure is well controlled.
:
A natural remedy good for this and prevention of many others illnesses can be found in the answer that I have given for someone today who complained of constipation. Just go to my profile and U can read the answer.
Additional information
Its good to know what else is available in their natural form that may help . Anyone can be taking apple ,banana, garlic, etc etc.,as a source of food without knowing that these are food that may help to reduce high blood pressure as reseachers have discovered .
I ve known people taking medicines for a few decades to control their blood pressure & desperate to find out what other thing may help.as supplementary medicine.I suppose cooking food with just a little more garlic is acceptable since garlic is familiar foodstuff.
Pls. do read answers here with an open mind, do some researches yourself on the internet as there are tons of information for your reading pleasure but take the right action & do what is sensible.

1. Meditate 2. Do some strenuous regular physical exercise 3. Take up yoga - only with an authentic teacher 4. Reduce or cut out high fat red meat - or become a vegetarian 1. Meditation is difficult. Do it everyday at least once per day. meditation is focussing on a 'virtuous' object single pointedly. Gradually practise to bring your mind back to the object when it (and it always does) wander off. Don't be strict with yourself. Try to stop thinking of 'self' and think instead of other things, people and believe you are becoming more gentle and caring for other things other than the things that 'get to you'. 2. Run, jog, take up boxing, karate, judo etc - this improves the heart rate and helps focus and concentration.

There are literally hundreds of anti-hypertensive drugs. These are often most successful when used in conjunction with diuretics. Your doctor picks one depending on what your current blood pressure is and what other medications that you are on.
