I know cashmere comes from bunnies, but are the bunnies shaved or killed for the fur?

Cashmere is collected from goats. These goats live in very high altitude areas. Mainly cashmere is produced in India, Nepal, Pakistan, Tibet (China) and Mongolia . But these days Kazakhstan is also one of sources of cashmere.
Its collected naturally from goats as goats shed cashmere naturally it in spring. And then cashmere is combed of goat. Cashmere is just very fine layer of hair which is grown by these goats to protect themselves from Winter below zero temperatures. After winter they shed these hairs naturally.
No Goat is killed or harmed in any way during this process.

Cashmere is from a Goat they are sheared just like wool of a sheep.
Another word for Cashmere is Pashmina.

Cashmere comes from goats.
If you think it's wrong for animals to be deprived of food, water, and trucked thousands of miles in below freezing temperatures packed together and forced to stand in their frozen defecation, you won't buy cashmere.

Well, I came here expecting to answer a question about Led Zeppelin.
But, think logically about your question regardless if cashmere comes from a rabbit. Is skin involved? No. So the answer would be shaved no matter what animal you mean.

No, cashmere comes from a goat. It was originally collected from bushes (the branches ripped the hairs off the goats), but I believe the goats are now reared and sheared, and this makes it a type of wool. Vegetarian but not vegan. It feels similar to Merino wool.
Cashmere is an Anglicized form of 'Kashmir' - the Himalayan state in India, and that in turn got its name from a Hindu saint called Kashyap. Most cashmere now comes from China. In India, it's called 'pashmina'.

Bunnies? That's angora. Cashmere is goats. In both cases, they are brushed.
