NMB, it's been over 20 years since I've been in a KH. With all the new light that's come out lately, I wondered if there was anything new to know about the Governing Body. Just askin.

It amazes me how many JW's do not know who the Governing Body is made up of. They are a body of MEN, no women. Very few if any, are members of the anointed remnant, therefore they have no special relationship with those supposedly already in heaven. As ordinary men they have no more spirit led guidance than anybody else and yet they see fit to make edicts and laws, based on their understanding of scripture, that can have profound effects on peoples lives. As one of the previous responses states, they are imperfect humans just like everybody else, but imperfect humans who exercise amazing power over the lives of millions, on the understanding that they are Gods spokesman on earth. And, contrary to what someone else said, people like us are not trying to sow seeds of dissent, but trying to shpw people the truth about this manipulative, false prophet in order that they might be saved.

The governing body is a group of men and women!
They have a special relationship with the other (saints in heaven)
We don't use the sain term by the way, but.
They are brothers with Christ like the 12 Apostles, Mary,Jesus Mother, The Thousands baptized in the Book of Acts, Martyrs, and those you might call saints.
These are the last of the 144 thousand of Jesus little flock left on earth.
They do NOT receive transmissions from Heaven!
They do pray for Holy Spirit to guide their decisions, and the instructions that they give to the Large flock of Christian sheep here on the earth. They read and re read Christian Greek Scripture, and together with Hebrew Scripture come to better understandings, BUT, never claim to be infallible!
They like you and I are imperfect Humans.
I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I was a Devout Catholic before, so it took 12 years to totally convince me this is the right way to go.

Kingdom interests on the earth have been entrusted to “the faithful and discreet slave,” which is represented by the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses. (Matthew 24:45-47) The Governing Body is primarily concerned with providing spiritual instruction and direction for the Christian congregation. (Acts 6:1-6) When fellow worshipers are affected by natural disasters, however, the Governing Body asks one or more legal entities to provide relief and to repair or restore damaged homes and Kingdom Halls. If certain Christians are dealt with harshly or are persecuted, steps are taken to build them up spiritually. And “in troublesome season,” every effort is made to keep the preaching work moving forward.—2 Timothy 4:1, 2.

No matter what comes upon his people, Jehovah constantly provides spiritual food and needed direction. God also gives discernment and insight to responsible brothers to prepare for further advancement and refinements in theocratic organization. (Deuteronomy 34:9; Ephesians 1:16, 17) Without fail, Jehovah provides what we need in order to fulfill our disciple-making commission and to accomplish our ministry worldwide.—2 Timothy 4:5.

We have absolute confidence that Jehovah will never abandon his faithful people; he will deliver them through the coming “great tribulation.” (Revelation 7:9-14; Psalm 94:14; 2 Peter 2:9) We have every reason to maintain the confidence we had at first firm right down to the end. (Hebrews 3:14) Let us, therefore, be determined to keep in step with Jehovah’s organization.

They offer spiritual direction to Jehovah’s Witnesses, as did the first-century governing body. (Acts 16:4)

"they delivered them the decrees for to keep"

No, they are not the pope of the JWs. They have the same function as did the governing body in Jerusalem in the Bible, referred to often in Acts such as chapter 15 and 6.

No difference.

The represent the body of anointed (heavenly) believers left on earth and they are of the anointed.

The directors of the various departments are no longer anointed. They appointed those with the earthly hope to those tasks to decrease the work load of fleshly things on them just as the governing body in Acts chapter 6 found 7 men to take care of food aid to needy ones.

I'm sorry but you are confusing me here. Haven't you in the past claimed to have been one of Jehovah's Witnesses?
Why would you need this explained to you if that was your background?

Are they the ones that tell the witnesses what God says and also what the Bible says?

With all the changes they have made, I would not follow them.
