It's because there temp. is one degree higher than men. But it varies with age.

Not all women may have a higher pulse than men, in some cases, it's even the opposite case. Depending on the genetics of the individual, the size and function of the heart, blood pressure, and other various factors may affect the rate of the heart.

Can be because women's hearts are in general smaller so pump less volume with each beat.
But human beings come in all sizes and forms, so don't think in reality is so. However we still get taught this.
