Low blood pressure is determined differently than High blood pressure in that regardless of your blood pressure it is not considered low until there are accompanying symptoms. (i.e. : development of lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting upon standing caused by low blood pressure is called orthostatic hypotension). The danger is when blood pressure is so low that it is unable to deliver oxygenated blood to the brain and other body organs via the blood supply. This can cause permanent organ damage as well as organ failure if gone untreated. Some people can develop symptoms of low blood pressure if the blood pressure falls below 90/50 while people with normally high blood pressure can experience symptomatic low blood pressure at 100/60. These numbers can also change due to numerous physical and environmental alterations. Personally, my blood pressure has hung around 97/52 for 20 years and I have never had an episode of symptomatic low blood pressure.

Your readings are great at 110/65
Some heart specialists say that if you are on treatment then the lower your BP the better (short of being so low that you fall over of course)

You can read more about low blood pressure here - http://www.bloodpressurehigh.com/lowBP.html

Hope this helps

That number is pretty good B/P and in the normal range. Hypertension is high blood pressure, hypotension is low.

Normal Values

In adults, the systolic pressure should be less than 120 mmHg and the diastolic pressure should be less than 80 mmHg.

Stage 1 high blood pressure:

Top number is consistently 140 to 159 or the bottom number reads 90 to 99

Stage 2 high blood pressure:

Top number is consistently 160 or over or the bottom number reads 100 or over

Low blood pressure (hypotension):

Top number reading lower than 90 or pressure 25 mmHg lower than usual

Anything below 90 systolic (top number) is considered to be "low blood pressure". Below this, you start getting symptoms when you stand up quickly which also means that your blood pressure medication needs to be adjusted downward on the dosage. Your reading is perfect. American Heart Association guidelines now state that ideal blood pressure should be UNDER 120/80.

That depends on the individual. "Normal" blood pressure is 120/80, but if mine went that high, alarms would go off. My normal reading is 90-100/60 and I'm not on any meds. The healthier you are, the better your BP. If you're overweight and not very active, you could be put on medicine for a reading like yours.

When I took my BP this morning the reading was 90/50 and I am experiencing dizziness and hands are shaky.
I have history of AFib and have had the aortic heart valve replaced. Once taken to hospital for a 5 day stay due to AFib when half my heart 'stopped'.
I wonder if I should call the ambulance. I live alone and no family nearby?

Firstly, I really think you should be consulting your doctor on that. Anything lower than 120/80 is considered "low" and higher than 130/80 is "high."

Low blood pressure also depends on other SYMPTOMS. My blood pressure number is technically in the "low" range, but it always has been, and that's normal for MY body.

thats a good blood pressure. the 120/80 thing is just an average, just like your temp "should" be 98.6 lots of people are 96 to 99, its just an average, unless your really dizzy all the time you are fine. my pressure is usually 90/50 all the time too and im 5'5 150 pounds.
