I want to buy a gift for a friend who likes cigars. I'm clueless. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I know he likes mild if that helps.

I'm looking for something somewhat easy to get at a local shop, not too complicated. The online choices are kind of overwhelming.

Thanks,

On second thought maybe I will get something online.

I went to cigars international. I thought I would get a sampler pack, that way in case he doesn't like one he won't be stuck with a whole box.

I want something mild in the $35 range. What would you recommend?

Thanks! I made my choice online from Cigars International. I chose a mild sampler that has both 5 vegas and macanudo ( among some other types and brands). Out of the pack he's bound to like some of them. Thanks all for the advice.

I would highly recommend this website. www.cigarsinternational.com They have a line that is almost exclusive to them called "5 Vegas". They are very inexpensive for the quality of cigar. The Gold series is mild but flavorful and the Atomic is a maduro if the person you are buying this for likes more full-bodied complex cigars. Either way, I think that person would be more than impressed with this line.

The best way to start with this answer, is you need to know the size cigar he or she prefers. There are many quality blends on the market.

As far as sixe goes, if you have no clue about the size, I'd recommend a robusto, a corona, or a toro.

Ashton makes wonderful cigars. Medium to full, and always a pleasure to enjoy. The Double Magnum (one I truly recommend!) comes with a cedar sleeve around it, and you can smell the cedar throughout the cigar. You'll probably find this in the 8-9 range, depending where you are.

If your friend likes a lighter cigar, then Macanudo can be found everywhere cigars are sold. They are the lightest on the market, and the most popular around the globe.

For a fuller cigar, and a special one as well, see if your local cigar retailer has a Padron Anniversario. Fuller body without losing great flavor.

I used to manage a cigar store, so I could go on forever! Hope this helps!

Also, this time of year, there are several samplers put together by distributors. That would offer varying sizes, and blends as well, and for you, a cheaper price.

I prefer the La Perla Habana cigar. Medium strength, maduro wrapper. You can go to Cigar Aficonado to find a good retailer in your area. Or, you can go to Thompson Cigar Co and browse the selections online.
