Pondicherry is territory in India that was colonized by the French, so I would think the cuisineof that region would appeal to both. It's a fusion between delicious South Indian and French foods.
Pondicherry is known for its wide variety of cuisines from South Indian delicacies like idli and dosa to seafood like fried fish, prawn bajji and parota. Though the French history has an influence on the cuisine options here but the best options are still the local delicacies-sea food with a French accent.

Firstly where are they eating?? On the rez, or in france? If it's on the rez, (depending on what rez) traditional food may be in order. (traditional foods vary from tribe to tribe. Iroquois favor venison, corn, beans, squash, and frybread. Strawberry juice is tradionally a juice of choice.) As far as french cuisine, the simplest is poisson de crevette frit.

Let's go with Chicken Makhani.
Chicken Thighs in a creamy tomato gravy with kasuri methi(fenugreek leaves).....over basmati rice, and with naan (flatbread) on the side.
I haven't met a french person who didn't like a good stewed chicken. The french also use a lot of Tarragon, which, to me, reminds me faintly of methi leaves in their heaviness of aroma.
I'd go with ice cream for dessert.
